IF that picture is the real drone...I suspect it will be blown up or otherwise destroyed before Iran can do anything with it.

By now Iran has probably taken the drone apart and sold it to the highest bidder, be it Russia or China. Once it gets to it's destination, the U.S. isn't going to do anything as it would easily start World War III.

If they're still holding on to it(not the brightest thing to do, but it is Iran), you can be assure it's in a deep bunker hidden in the desert and out of harms way from anything other than a bunker busting nuke. Again, the U.S. isn't going to use a nuke that could lead to hell on Earth as the use of nuclear weapons that close to China isn't going to go unchallenged.

I am sure that one of these would get Iran's attention.

I would guess that asking might be the best way, because wouldn't it be in Iran's best interests to try and negotiate something in return?

The Chinese and Russians will offer much more for it then we will. They hate us. We hate them. Everyone knows it. I'm really not sure why we asked for it. It just made us look like idiots and weak.

We all damn well know they are peddling this shit out to all our enemies after getting as much out of it for publicity as they can.

I mean, I suppose we can send in Obama to beg and cry for it.

Isn't is nice that Obama is asking for it back. Wonder if he used the magic word.

That is already what Iran is doing. The only catch is they are negotiating with China or Russia as they will give Iran far more of what it actually wants than we would ever consider giving them.

If the Iranians do want to sell the drone, they'll probably have to transport it by a ship. If they don't return it, send the navy over and sink the ship in international waters when they transport it.

China can send a ship to pick it up. We aren't going to start a war with China over a drone.

:'(

Pretty please, can I have my drone back?

:'(

I actually think it's kind of funny in a way. We're obviously overflying Iran and spying... they get a drone and we just shrug our shoulders and ask for it back like nothing happened.

Well, we're the big proponents of sanctions against Iran, right? In a way, this gives Iran a chance to do the (politically) right thing, doesn't it? It makes me think that they could at least get on the path to becoming more accepted if they would handle this correctly.

I highly doubt it will happen, but who knows... I think it would be interesting to see.

Why are we even asking for it back? We should just let them have it and fuck off. Our mistake, oops sorry for spying on you Iran. We'll be more careful not to get caught next time.

wah wah. chickenhawks gunning for a fight with Iran. The same pussy chickehawks start crying when they see the design of a twin tower that resembles the downed twin tower.

How is it moral when a drone is sent 140 miles into Iran. They found it and you fucks want to go blow it up and kill the people who are guarding it.

It makes sense to ask for it for several reasons. One, just to go on record. Second, to appear innocent of wrongdoing. Third, to open a door to dialogue (however unlikely the Iranians are apt to do this).

If we violated Iranian airspace, they are well within their rights to attempt to shoot it down and hold onto the wreckage.

If the aircraft was severely damaged the US would do well to release pics of it as such to counter the parade going on in Iran.

Personally, if it crashed near or on the Afghan border, in an area with low population, probably would have been best just to let a nice "stray" or "hijacked" smartbomb eliminate it.

Well, we have what amounts to a division's worth of armor & soldiers sitting in Kuwait... And I just got the word today, pack your bags, you're going to Western Afghanistan. Anyone familiar with Afghanistan knows what the West is like.
