Really.. You were questioning whether to get an iPhone 6 (2014) or to wait for the S6 (2015). iPhone 3GS (2009) did not come to my mind. Where do you even get one of those, from a flea market or something? :D

Unless he got it for free, then lol.
Could have bought a new Lumia 520 for $20
Or the new Lumia 635 for $50-65
Moto G for <$100
Etc...

I think s/he was joking because s/he did not like the way discussion has been going for unstated reasons. (thus the smiley)

Or maybe s/he was not.

If you really want to buy an android phone than there are far better options than Samsung like HTC, Motorola, LG or even the Nexus. But if you want to stick to Samsung then Note 4 will be better than S6 (presumably).

If you want to buy apple then S5 is way better than 6. (personal opnion)

It all depends on how in need of a smartphone your are in! If you don't need one; then wait till September 2015 and then decide! Otherwise; I get the iPhone 6!

Neither. Galaxy S6 will most likely just be a "hey look these specs have bigger numbers" model in some unwieldy size and the iPhone 6 is overpriced considering its lack of RAM and storage space in the base model.

If you can, wait for 2015 models from other manufacturers.

The iPhone 6 and definitely 6+ is flawed with the limited 1GB of RAM. It's pretty terrible. Apps that were recently open are closed because Safari causes such tremendous memory pressure. Heck, if you have a podcast app playing in the background at the same time as browsing a page in Safari (or any app with a web view), it will close the podcast app!

Sigh.

Most people don't realize that some iOS devices are better than others due to their relative power/performance/RAM which makes them a real sweet spot. iPad 2 and iPhone 5s are the most recent ones I'd say. If anything, I'd recommend buying those models on the cheap and using your upgrade next year on a 6s. Apple Pay in the iPhone 6 isn't widespread enough to bother using your upgrade on right now, and the NFC chip isn't usable by developers so I wouldn't say you are missing much today getting a 5s.
