Apple fixed it with later shipping phones. Most don't have that problem anymore.

well mine just went from processing order to preparing to ship, lets hope I can get it on monday or tues

AND I just sold my 32GB vzw iphone 5 for $550 on ebay :)!

Hmm I've been tempted to sell my 64GB on eBay now that I have the 5S, but I'm barely seeing any sold auctions going for above $500 and I'm worried about getting scammed as I've heard that Apple products tend to be targeted more often by the claim-not-working-and-send-back-another-unit scam. :hmm:

I got my 5 replaced with another unit only a few months ago and it still had the problem. So... I either play the lottery of seeing how old of a replacement unit I get, or I get one that I know doesn't have the problem. :\

I forgot to mention, the weird part of this is I just showed up in the afternoon and asked, without lining up. I only passed by the mall to go to another store, but the Apple store was on the way in the same mall, so I stopped in just out of interest's sake. Because there were only grey there though I didn't bother getting one. The line up outside was only about 5 deep. However all of them had tickets in hand for the units they were getting as far as I know. There were people at the front of the line from Apple, still handing out the tickets for the 16 and 64 grey. So, I think the line up outside it was simply for people waiting to pay for the units they already had tickets for. Inside the store it was a complete zoo, so I suspect there were only a limited number of people actually processing purchases for the iPhones.

BTW, a friend's Rogers online reservation started processing yesterday. 64 Gold. Nice to see that online "line" moving too.

Local apple store still had space grey 64's in stock for AT&T. Was looking for a 32g version but picked it up. Should be good on space for a while.

Called around and most best buys had the Verizon model in stock in space grey and most verizon stored had space grey stock. The AT&T version was hard to come by. The apple store said they are supposed to receive daily shipments of the 5s but don't know what time of day. Ymmv on store but if you can't wait and can do a spade grey or silver may be worth a shot.

I spoke with manager while in line and she said Sunday as well. I had the same thought that it was only during the week but she was pretty adamant on every day including sat/sun. I'd still call ahead and check but I've got no way to confirm. They were telling people they'd have to come back the next day which is today.

So ymmv but I am curious if they get any shipments. Also if they do it'll likely just be space gray which no one seems to want. Maybe some silvers.

Are you getting it from Apple, or a carrier?

If this is from Apple, this is what I've noticed in the past with some of my orders:

If it's in stock in North America, and you choose regular shipping, they may ship it ground. You get air only with expedited shipping.

However, if it's NOT in stock in North America, and it's a hot new product, they will often ship it by air directly to you from China regardless of what shipping method you choose.

IOW, an in stock item in North America might take 5 business days to arrive, but a directly shipped item from Cina might take 2 business days to arrive, even if both are ordered with regular shipping.

Ordered mine from the tmobile store in Philly (carrier). The store never offered my a shipping choice option. They just said it was free shipping.

32gig Space grey iphone 5s. Ordered yesterday around noon. The paper work says estimated ship date was 10/1.

great the phone I ordered on apple.com is coming fmor china and i won't get it until wends, i wish I had just gone to the store on fri and picked one up

well i was hoping it was like when they used to allow preorders, the phones were already staged in the US and they arrived overnight

I wonder if that person was trying to avoid being robbed... o_O.

Oh, and standing in line sucks. I had to wait half an hour to get mine, and it was annoying for just that long. I mentioned it in another thread in MD&G, but the whole personalized service stuff makes Apple lines take forever. It took me about five minutes max including activation and such.

I got my shipping confirmation email today. Ordered directly through verizon on Friday. Scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday via FedEx (shipped from Coatesville, PA).

Apple reported over 9 million iPhones sold in 3 days.

I am still holding out though! Figure I'll wait because I'm looking at condos and have a ton of stuff to buy in Oct / Nov.
