OK Apple, it's October. It's time to update some of our shipping details. There must be a bazillion of us who ordered on launch day and whose order confirmation emails still say simply shipping "October".

Anyone notice how wildly variable TouchID can be? There are times when I use it and it will take a pretty ridiculous amount of time to register. To note, in this case, "ridiculous" is relative to how long it takes me to type in the pass code. After that, I'll sit there and try it out many times, and it's usually fine. It makes me wonder if there may be some weird issue with how much pressure you put on the button as I normally had just pressed it to wake the phone.

The Eaton Centre Apple Store in Toronto has the 16 GB models of both the Silver and Space Gray. I called 2 minutes ago.

However, Toronto Fairview Mall has nothing at all this weekend.

I ordered one 16gb gold and 2 space gray Sep 29th through Verizon. Any estimation as to when they should arrive? Verizon site says Nov 11th. I read couple of forums and it seems everyone is getting them few days earlier than listed dates.

Hopefully I won't have the sensor problems with the compass/level.

In Canada at least, it seems the carrier ones may not be quite on the same schedule as the factory unlocked Apple ones. Mine is an unlocked model from Apple.

Dammit. UPS is really taking its time with this one, and has pushed back the ship date until Tuesday next week. Arrgggh. This weekend would have been perfect.

Dunno why it took two days to go from China (Zhengzhou) to Korea and then back to China (Hong Kong).

Ordered tmo 32GB silver on the first, got a ship date "by oct 18" today.

At 3:06 am EST (or 12:06 am PT) I had a 32 GB Gold in my cart, for the Canadian Apple Store. It said shipping 7-10 days.

By the time I actually checked out though it was 3:08 am and it said shipping in October. Damn check out process.

I don't know what "October" means, but at that time the website was still showing 7-10 days for Space Grey and Silver. In fact, it was still showing 7-10 days for those colours as of 3:30 am. I suspect what it means is that they had very, very few golds, and they sold out by the time I finished the order.

"Out for Delivery" today. Yay! The strange part is that UPS still says the delivery date is Oct. 15. (Today is Oct. 11.) The original ship date from China was Oct. 6.

Yeah, Apple is being very conservative with their shipping estimates, which is a good thing. Now if my eBay 5S bumper would only arrive soon... I ordered that and a separate case 4 weeks ago. Taking forever to ship, on that slow boat from China (literally).
