HUTCHINSON ? A Pretty Prairie man has been sentenced to six months probation and ordered to undergo a mental evaluation after pleading no contest to a charge that he sodomized a dog.

Joshua Brian Coman, 20, waived his right to an attorney and made the plea Friday to criminal sodomy of an animal, a misdemeanor in Kansas.

Officers arrested Coman on Sept. 23 after witnesses said they saw him engaged in the lewd activity with a large, Rottweiler-type dog.

Judge Randy McEwen sentenced Coman to probation, $300 in fines and other costs and ordered the mental evaluation.

Assistant District Attorney Greg Benefiel said sodomy is considered a crime in Kansas and sodomy of an animal falls under the same criminal statute as that between consenting adults. Benefiel said criminal sodomy involving a minor is a felony.

I just remember looking at his myspace shortly after this article came out. It was a picture of him holding a dog, and he had other pictures of dogs in his myspace. I can't access myspace from work, but he did have a page up for quite some time after this came out - maybe it is down now.

Especially since you're just some random guy he chats with about consumer electronics. If you keep talking to him like 'don't worry, shit will blow over' you aren't doing him any favors. Wish him luck with his treatment and stop talking to him.
 
Wow...guy couldn't save up $50 and go to the pound and get his own? Sheesh.

Seriously messed up and I really hope they find more serious charges to keep him in jail.

this woman is about a pubic hair away from saying he raped the dog.
