Intense cop chest cam video of a shootout

video is MIA already

link worked for me
not sure what was going through the guy's mind. he pulls a gun with a cop next to him on his left and 1 slightly behind and right of him. he puts the gun in the air, then runs, then turns around and points the gun at the cop that was behind him. i don't think he even fires a shot. maybe he thought they wouldn't shoot him?

I wonder how many times he got hit? Cop seemed to be just point shooting quickly.

Saw this a while. Just goes to show you how dangerous this line of work can be. I am surprised there wasn't any butthurt cop rage over why they didn't shoot the weapon out his hand.

Can't see in work, is this the video of some random guy in a bathroom being escorted out by 2 cops? If so it's been a while since I saw it but I don't recall there being any "shootout" as the guy hardly got to the point of lifting his arm.

That's the one. It was suicide by cop. The suspect's gun wasn't even real.

I don't want to downplay the risk cops face. It's serious. Videos like this show the real dangers police encounter and they must be prepared.

Note in this video, the male officer suspected the guy was going to do something (or was just generally preparing), as they were exiting he moved a set of silverware (knife) away from the edge of the table.

I do want to point out it's videos like this that make it into their training too much, which I believe lead to police overreacting like the case where a guy was shot going for his ID in his car when the cop told him to get it. Following the order to get his ID made the cop think he was going for a gun in the car, and shot him.

There has to be balance. It's not us vs. them.

A lot of people are.

Stuff happens fast...I'd really like to see two-officer cars as a standard, but that costs money so it's rare to see.

I know you're an ex cop... so jw why it costs "money". Shouldn't it lower costs? I.e, 2 cops sharing one car means less cars needing to be bought & maintained? Plus it's safer most likely, so less life insurance/health insurance claims due to safer work environment.

It's a fine line to walk...

Absolutely safer, but unless you reduce coverage you double the manpower requirement for the same patrol area and response time.

Mmm.. true, I guess if you think of the car as doing the patrolling, rather than the guys inside, it spreads resources thinner.

I'm glad though chest cams are becoming more prevalent; it helps all parties affected IMO.

It was a bb gun.

Yep. I only had a dash cam, but it was on a lot.

With how realistic airsoft looks these days, I wouldn't be standing there trying to figure it out. Heck, even the standard rental paintball marker looks like a sub machine gun of some type.

What's the distance the mic pics up on those things? Or did you have the set up where you wore a mic, and that was connected & synced wit the dash system?

I just worry about when cops are on street patrol. I know you were a good guy and all, but we have a lot of shit bags around the city where I live. They walk the streets at night patrolling. Obviously.. most are normal dudes, but I've seen a few abuse and arrest people when they didn't have to. None of that probably got recorded. I'm a law abiding guy but I get paranoid sometimes when I'm out in the city going bar to bar. I don't want it to ever be my word vs theirs.
