i got some bundle a few years back...intel d850gb mobo (that uses dreaded Rambus ram) and an intel 1.xxGHZ chip. It's fast enough for what i need it for. Since this new board doesn't support AGP, i think i'm going to pass on the deal.

Last year's board wasn't AGP either. And next year's won't be. PCI-e is the technology Intel is pushing now. At least there's a better selection of PCI-e cards at better prices than when the deal came out last year! C'mon, you know you really want it!

The last one for the year is usually 1500 and then you have the live event that is either 1K or 500.

article and downloads you should be fine.

Yes that's what I'm asking nfamous. If they reserve a bundle for you I'm curious as to what the "reserve time" actually is. Would be nice if it was a couple weeks, I've combed through the website a couple times if anyone has seen it pls LMK, thanks!

Just got a very-part-time job at Best Buy. WOOHOO! I qualify again! I'd better get right on those tests!!
Hope I have some points saved up from the past....

BTW! Please let us know when this live event thing is... I probably need all the points I can get! (Haven't done it for 2 years now...)

Not sure how lonfg they reserve.

Last year it took about a month to verify employemnet and I am posting from a P4 3.2 ;)

Then I guess we will have to assume you didn't get verified because last year's bundle was a 3.4 GHz. :)

I got past the 10K mark as well. I trust since they claim if one has over 10K points a bundle will be reserved for them that it'll be reserved while they verify employment.
Also, I don't really know if I want this bundle or not. I got in on the AMD deal a while back...the Asus mb...the 64 bit 3200 cpu, far cry & the t-shirt. I don't know if this'll be much of an upgrade or not, but I may be wrong. I know i'll have to buy different ram & a different video, though, which sucks.
Thoughts?

I am probably in. I'm not sure if I want to upgrade or what.

Just a thought for you people....this motherboard only supports DDR2 memory. While it might not be a big deal to some of you, but I wasnt really planning on spending more money on memory for this as well. If I do then I probably wouldnt spend much more than $100. Oh well....what speed memory should we be getting? I did a power search on newegg for PC2 2700, 5300 and 5400 DDR2 memory (2x512). hope this works
What do you guys think?


Edit: Not sure why I didnt search PC2 4200 speed. But they have a weekend sale on Corsair ValueSelect 2x512 for $75. It says CAS Latency is 4, so its timing is probably 4-4-4-12 or something. But it still seems like a pretty good deal if they are fast enough.

New seach on the egg to include 4200 and 4300 speeds hope it works again :p

I emailed them regarding how long a bundle would be reserved for. Here is the response i got...
Retail Edge Program members who have registered for the 2005 purchase program, whose employment has been verified and who have received their purchase code will have the opportunity to purchase the bundle until January 16, 2006.
