Discussion Intel Nova Lake in H2-2026: Discussion Threads

Almost nobody needs 52 C with limited membw. Intel is in for a rude awakening if it thinks that halo part will sell buckets.

On the flip side, 4 P + 4 LPE cores is probably not enough in today's market.

The question is, what clocks will Zen 6 hit? If we're talking +10% fmax +8% IPC then overall +20% ST is reasonable. Zen 5 and ARL are basically the same, so Zen 6 should have a 10% or so lead over NVL in ST (assuming NVL fmax is the same as ARL).

They can simply just move the tiles to other part

It's enough for normal people who do office and web browsing and some apps?

going to be 10% IPC and 8-10% most likely

Doesn't matter much if IPC is only ~10% more than arrow lake in the average bench or application, wait for results in gaming with the big cache tile. After what broadwell and zen got with the extra memory there will be quite the uproar.

No, it's from their own sources
Sounds more like it's their own interpretation of Jaykihn's tweet.

Wccftech makes a slightly different interpretation of the same tweet:
in short:
"Intel Nova Lake 52-Core Desktop CPUs To Display Full Power on Higher-End 900-Series Motherboards, Rest Will Limit Performance & Power"

Could perhaps be that they mean the same thing, but use slightly different wordings. But then what does that HEDT actually mean for NVL-S? Is it just that HEDT motherboards allows higher power to be used for the 52C variant? And you can still run the 52C on non-HEDT motherboards? Or what else does HEDT bring?

Nova Lake-S is allegedly only ~10% faster than Arrow Lake-S in ST. Allegedly. That would not put it ahead of its competition.
Coyote Cove delivers an 11% INT IPC uplift and a 15% FP uplift over Cougar Cove. The IPC uplift for Arctic Wolf remains unknown.
