Wildcat Lake (WCL) Specs

Intel Wildcat Lake (WCL) is upcoming mobile SoC replacing Raptor Lake-U. WCL consists of 2 tiles: compute tile and PCD tile. It is true single die consists of CPU, GPU and NPU that is fabbed by 18-A process. Last time I checked, PCD tile is fabbed by TSMC N6 process. They are connected through UCIe, not D2D; a first from Intel. Expecting launching in Q1 2026.

As Hot Chips 34 starting this week, Intel will unveil technical information of upcoming Meteor Lake (MTL) and Arrow Lake (ARL), new generation platform after Raptor Lake. Both MTL and ARL represent new direction which Intel will move to multiple chiplets and combine as one SoC platform.

MTL also represents new compute tile that based on Intel 4 process which is based on EUV lithography, a first from Intel. Intel expects to ship MTL mobile SoC in 2023.

ARL will come after MTL so Intel should be shipping it in 2024, that is what Intel roadmap is telling us. ARL compute tile will be manufactured by Intel 20A process, a first from Intel to use GAA transistors called RibbonFET.

If SPEC 1T numbers are right... Holy ****
they are using Intel Compiler for this so idk what to say David Huang will release the benchmark tomorrow that will give us a big idea

Numbers look really good, hopefully they’re not pulling shady stuff like with the MTL launch. Even if it’s half true, though, that’d be a great result.
MTL is so good for intel ,but not so good for market.
I have a MTL laptop zenbook ,it's good for me.

MTL is a decent enough design, it’s just that Intel blatantly lied about the power consumption during their pre-launch performance preview so the actual product wasn’t near what their preview said it was.

They must be using a realtime OS. Is it QNX or a heavily modified variant? How does one handle multiple cores in realtime? The communication latency needs to be really, really low between the cores to ensure quick response times.

QNX is rare as hens' teeth in defense things.

The most common platforms are Integrity, LynxOS, embedded Linux (not for real-time, of course) and sometimes VxWorks.

One thing I've seen that I don't think is right in Intel's comparison is that they list the Asus Zenbook S16 with the Ryzen HX 370 and the Asus Vivobook S15 with the X-Elite as having 1920x1080 screens but both have much higher res OLED screens. The Intel preview system is also listed as having a 1920x1080 screen and if that is true, it makes the system power / battery life comparisons not fair. I'm guessing it's a mistake for all 3, but I have no way of confirming. Did they mention the displays in any of the videos/streams?

Edit: It seems like for the Intel LNL Zenbook model, they are not consistent in listing the display spec and have it as a higher resolution display in other places, so most likely just marketing not doing a good job with the actual display specs.

I am afraid it will be the usual look the specific device review to be sure. Could be refresh rate, resolution, display size (smaller pixel pitch means less energy for an OLED pixel I'd think?), AGESA/bios updates, windows/driver updates, or a combination of everything.

Zenbook S14 also has a 3K OLED. I also wondered why the footnotes say "Display Resolution". Probably just some Guys in marketing department confusing it with rendering resolution. At the end of the day, all these Asus devices should have a 3K OLED.

Do you realize the implication of this slide? Intel is admitting here, "We sold a duck to you called Meteor Lake, suckers!".
It's still better than 12/13 gen H series with better graphics better power draw it's at low power level it sucks i have one and it is fine i upgraded from a 8250u btw the thing is phoenix is better at lower power levels and in temrs of BL both are on par from the reviews it was hyped too much and the P cores were not improved at all outside of few instructions
