Wildcat Lake (WCL) Specs

Intel Wildcat Lake (WCL) is upcoming mobile SoC replacing Raptor Lake-U. WCL consists of 2 tiles: compute tile and PCD tile. It is true single die consists of CPU, GPU and NPU that is fabbed by 18-A process. Last time I checked, PCD tile is fabbed by TSMC N6 process. They are connected through UCIe, not D2D; a first from Intel. Expecting launching in Q1 2026.

As Hot Chips 34 starting this week, Intel will unveil technical information of upcoming Meteor Lake (MTL) and Arrow Lake (ARL), new generation platform after Raptor Lake. Both MTL and ARL represent new direction which Intel will move to multiple chiplets and combine as one SoC platform.

MTL also represents new compute tile that based on Intel 4 process which is based on EUV lithography, a first from Intel. Intel expects to ship MTL mobile SoC in 2023.

ARL will come after MTL so Intel should be shipping it in 2024, that is what Intel roadmap is telling us. ARL compute tile will be manufactured by Intel 20A process, a first from Intel to use GAA transistors called RibbonFET.

Last year they had ITT in June, just after Computex and launch event for Lunar Lake in Sept. In 2023 they had ITT in August, launch event for MTL in December, very few designs were available in December(through EEP) to buy until 2024.

PTL launch seemed to be kinda more in line with MTL, was supposed to launch one SKU(4+8+4+12Xe3) towards the end of year through EEP. Let's see. Anyway CES 2026 would be where more OEM designs are showcased.

I gather “good food is not afraid of being late” to be a positive connotation meaning Panther lake is worth the wait

It's just some misunderstanding caused by translation.

EEP is pushed back to Q1, said by same leaker.

PTL was originally a 2025 product got pushed back. Remember, Intel always releases products by Q4 for end users to buy.

Yes it got pushed back roughly a quarter at least.

Q1 was always the volume shipping date did they delay EEP or they cancelled EEP and are doing full volume launch Q126?

They delay PTL EEP to next year. And well I admit Q1 for EEP was just my optimistic thought. Leaker didn't say exactly when.
If benchmark and review happen after CES, EEP might be also Q1 I guess.

lol, I don’t buy that 2026 was the launch date for on shelves.

Here’s what likely happened, 18A got delayed hence the date got moved to 2026.

PTL was originally a 2025 product got pushed back. Remember, Intel always releases products by Q4 for end users to buy.
Naw, them being quiet is good news. We want underpromise, overdeliver right? They were pretty quiet before Core 2 launch.

With big companies they talk more when the products suck. Look at Cyberpunk 2077 launch. Much talk, much suck.

Regarding NVL-S release date, is there any process tech availability stopping Intel from releasing in 2026H1?

Also, it's a big difference between early and late in a Hx. H1 to H2 could mean anything form January 2026 to December 2026.

Someone dare to guesstimate a month?

Three 4+8+4+12? Why?
Was expected after all. Pretty similar to LNL, with Ultra 7 and 9 both having the full Cores and Ultra 5 only slightly reduced.

Sure, could've been only one SKU, Because difference will be like 2-300MHz on Cores iGPU, but i kinda like the fact that you can also choose an lower end option without sacrificung iGPU too much, unlike AMD and Qualcomm where you get the best iGPU only in the best SKU and everything else is axed.
