Wildcat Lake (WCL) Specs

Intel Wildcat Lake (WCL) is upcoming mobile SoC replacing Raptor Lake-U. WCL consists of 2 tiles: compute tile and PCD tile. It is true single die consists of CPU, GPU and NPU that is fabbed by 18-A process. Last time I checked, PCD tile is fabbed by TSMC N6 process. They are connected through UCIe, not D2D; a first from Intel. Expecting launching in Q1 2026.

As Hot Chips 34 starting this week, Intel will unveil technical information of upcoming Meteor Lake (MTL) and Arrow Lake (ARL), new generation platform after Raptor Lake. Both MTL and ARL represent new direction which Intel will move to multiple chiplets and combine as one SoC platform.

MTL also represents new compute tile that based on Intel 4 process which is based on EUV lithography, a first from Intel. Intel expects to ship MTL mobile SoC in 2023.

ARL will come after MTL so Intel should be shipping it in 2024, that is what Intel roadmap is telling us. ARL compute tile will be manufactured by Intel 20A process, a first from Intel to use GAA transistors called RibbonFET.

Yes. The post was mainly about changes made to PalmCove vs. skylake. I mentioned SunnyCove has introduced a very large FPU extension (mainly with AVX512 in mind) because in PalmCove, despite the addition of AVX512, the FPU is still very similar to that of Skylake.

Of course I know about SunnyCove and I agree it's a very big upgrade for Skylake although not as big as GoldenCove with its 6 x86 decode pipelines, 512 ROB, 5 ALU pipelines, 3x256 bit FPU among others.

Meteor Lake-S (as expected) up to i5, Arrow Lake-S up to i9. Same chipset.

 
Is there a picture of the structure of the Meteorlake 6+16 system? If not, what is the certainty that 8+16 does not exist?

As far as I am aware, 6+16 was only a rumor. As meteor lake is only “up to” i5 on the desktop, I would not count on a 6+16 part.
 
intel will stick to 8+6 to establish the new platform and work out any bugs on the consume rmainstream lineup. meteor lake will be the village bicycle.

It's been months since I've followed CPUs. Life got in the way. Is it still the consensus here in the forums that this 2023 chip is mobile only and launches in 2024 despite what Intel says and the possible LGA1851 interposer?
 
First time they mentioned Arrow Lake. Last time there was only Lunar Lake, now it's both in 2024. Obviously they don't tell which variant of Arrow Lake.

front page had an article today about meteor and intel 4 ramping up production. might have been tied to the quarterly idk, I read the headline and then ran off to get lunch. intel 3 ramping in 8 months to 1 year and 4-6 months from now would be a good indication of how smooth things are outside the embarrassing quarter reports.

They said h2 2023 so expect q4.
 
When is Intel not gonna be shy about showing off its Intel 4 baby to the public? AMD will screw them anyway one way or the other (either power or performance or BOTH 😀 ) so they might as well leak some delicious benchmarks 😛

that has been intel's schedule for a long time now. they used to do releases mid year but no one is dropping that kind of dough mid year when they've got a long 3 month term of spending especially if they've got children. good spend period is september through mid january before it falls dead.

recall pat saying he'd love to get amd and apple on ifs? imagine if they did and got ahead of tsmc for several nodes in some bizarre magical world where half the crap said on this forum turns out true. imagine amd beating intel on their own node and do so for several gens. intel ceo then would be on suicide watch.

This type of discourse in an Intel thread helps nobody. I know you like to spice up the discussion a bit, you like a more dramatic presentation, but eventually some people WILL take this seriously and react accordingly. It may be less fun, but it also creates less breeding ground for ideas like 6% increase in clocks making 7Ghz possible.

What we do expect instead delivery with a certain cadence. Intel needs to provide MTL with very good availability by Q1 2024, and then follow up with a healthy launch of ARL, per schedule. And that's just to show their foundries have a chance to deliver on that 2025 promise. A good overall performance from Intel would mean strong availability of MTL based laptops in Q4 2023, but I'm not holding my breath for that.

I expect jh to announce how we can all afford a 5090 in the future by selling a kidney or partial livers.
 
Core Ultra 5 1003H? Is that a placeholder or final CPUID? Earlier than expect if it's a QS with shipping SKU ID. From QS to RTS there is a ~4 months timeframe usually. Easy H2 launch.
