The founder of the John Birch Society considered Eisenhower to be a communist.
My point exactly. I do take back the neo-con label--yes he wanted America to take a leadership role in world affairs, but he didn't want to escalate every conflict into open warfare and warned against the military-industrial complex becoming too strong (and Reagan helped his prophecy ring true.)

There are many, many supporters of Bernie Sanders who are honest-hearted, believe in fair play and equality.

What most will not believe or accept is the sad truth that many Bernie supporters proved downright intolerant, vicious and racist to the bone.

I learned this by talking to so many on Facebook. I could not believe the hatred many of them exhibited for Blacks and other People of Color, the dismissal of viewpoints different from their own and the attitude that Barack Obama's two triumphs on his way to the Oval Office were no big deal.

After realizing this, I began noticing the lack of respect most had for those who were older, the disdain for honest dialogue and the wholesale acceptance of the worst lies about Hillary.

It was not just the relentless trashing of Hillary, it was the continuous bashing of the Democratic Party as if the decades of struggle to thwart the worst of the Right meant nothing. Barack was nothing special. I completely disagree.

The only things that counted were Bernie's ideas. A guy I learned to despise after his advice to Black America in the face of rampant and escalating police brutality when he had the fucking nerve to say: "Black people need to be polite to police."

Even when most Blacks are polite to cops, many of us still get shot or beaten.

Finally, someone had the gonads to tell the ugly truth about Bernie supporters and progressives in general. They're impressed only with their own power.

Which is why Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez continues to show her contempt for Black men by attacking NYC Mayor Eric Adams in public. Instead of back channeling her angst. When she first burst on the scene, AOC had a PAC called Justice Democrats.

Her PAC targeted several House members for defeat who didn't her share Socialist viewpoints. All were elected Black men.

Why did many Bernie Bots feel the way they do? They never cared about people such as me in the first place.

This I see is why you just did a "Haha" on my post. Whatever dude, you talked to many on Facebook, OK.

Re read what I said that is hilarious. I am not a BB.

EDIT: Link the quote of POC being nice to police please.

He's probably referring to this:
Sanders made the statement during a question-and-answer session at the forum at Benedict College, a historically black college. The student asked Sanders, "If I'm your son, what advice would you give me next time I'm pulled over by a police officer?"

"I would respect what they are doing so that you don't get shot in the back of the head, but I would also be very mindful of the fact that as a nation, we have got to hold police officers accountable for the actions that they commit," he said. "I would be very cautious if you were my son in terms of dealing with that police officer, but I would also defend my rights and know my rights and make sure if possible that police officer's camera is on what goes on."
The Twitter-sphere had a field day with it, I guess.

Same basic question for Biden (from the same article)
The question was later asked to former Vice President Joe Biden by a black female student.

"If you were my daughter, you'd be a Caucasian girl and you wouldn't be pulled over," Biden said. "That's what's wrong."

In the news today were TWO storied about kids in Arkansas shooting their siblings dead.
So once again it seems the people who love guns put them above their own children. I dont see any meaningful change with that attitude.

Thank you very much.

So completely taken out of context. By the OP I replied to.

That's just a damn shame, that person decided to spin, and ignore what I said, which I thought I said pretty respectfully.

Holy shit .. they just stood there...

Yeah, this was shocking. I get that the first 4 cops had a momentary lack of courage when all those shots range out. But a few minutes later when reinforcements came in, they still hesitated and (wft) the two guys with the ballistic shields were at the back of the group moving forward 😲. There are companies in the US they provide excellent training for the police to act rationally - despite high stress situations, like with active shooters, rapid threat assessment (gun or cell phone) and improved tactical awareness and communication. As happened under the Clinton administration with a bill to hire 100,000 extra police officers to deal with the crack cocaine/drug violence situation (yes it was flawed) - I think given the situation wrt mass shooting in the US, we need to fund the training of 100,000 officers in the above listed categories. It could jump start a substantial change in police preparedness.

Also, as anyone paying attention knows, police training programs, with the exception of in some programs for state troopers, receive far too little classroom instruction, and practical field exercises. Frequent trips to the shooting range do nothing to prepare cops for high stress encounters.

Or we could get rid of the guns and then we wouldn't have to train police for these scenarios except for a select few

True, but Im not holding my breath. With the 2A in the constitution, the present interpretation of that amendment, and the history of gun own ship in the US, overcoming that it’s like trying to climb Mount Everest in a bikini and flip flops.

I'm pretty jaded and cynical about the absurdity of where we find our self wrt gun ownership and gun violence in the US today.

The level of brainwashing that has occurred in the GQP over guns is truly amazing, should be studied be professionals and given it's own designation perhaps. Goes way beyond selfishness and I say that as someone who owns many firearms.

With mass shootings continuing to claim innocents pretty much every week, 168 Rs voted against using AMBER alerts to notify locals of a mass shooting in progress. Information that could literally help innocents stay alive and the GQP nutjobs vote against it because 'it would make people afraid of the 2nd amendment.'

These cultists are beyond hope.

Or left wingers with guns feel super uncomfortable giving up personal protection in an environment where right wing militia is on trial for trying to subvert democracy and own the libs.

OK this is interesting.

Early in the siege, one officer is seen checking his phone, which prompted criticism in some quarters until a local politician provided some important context.

State Rep. Joe Moody, one of three House Investigative Committee members looking into the law enforcement response, tweeted that the officer is Ruben Ruiz of the Uvalde School District Police – the husband of teacher Eva Mireles, who was shot and killed.

The teacher contacted her husband on the phone while he stood with gun in hand down the hallway to say she was dying, according to Moody.

Mireles was a fourth grade teacher. She’d been an educator for 17 years, her family has said. Seconds after being seen on the phone, the video shows Ruiz walking out of camera view. He returns moments later and speaks with other officers.

Ruiz was eventually removed from the building after trying to intervene, according to Moody.

That video is disturbing enough without this added piece of information.

When the Uvalde shooting first happened, I was aghast at the uniformed knuckleheads who stood at microphones giving their versions of what went down.

As soon as I heard their words, I knew they were lying.

What cowards, what phonies what terrible liars.

But I bet they love dragging motorists they target out of vehicles and slamming them.

I wondered why they keep pushing that one officer back. I thought, maybe his wife was a teacher in there.

You should always assume police are lying. That is literally their default response when they have to answer for anything now. They are fucking trained to do that by their union.

That's because people like you keep supporting Republicans over insanity like your ignorant views on abortion. Literally every single thing Republicans are screaming about is absurd and nonsensical. You don't care, you're fine with it as long as abortion gets banned. This is on you. You are the reason why nothing can be done about this and you're actively enabling the insanity. Until you hold yourself responsible, I don't know why you're surprised we're not able to hold anyone else responsible or make changes we know will work.

AmeriKKKa needs to stop lying to itself. It is not exceptional.

The things that made us "exceptional" were us being scared and getting late to WWII where, due to geography, simply were spared the vast majority of the harm that perpetrated upon the world. Just like we were "exceptional" in that like 90% of the indigenous population was wiped out in North America prior to the European colonists arriving. Or us being "exceptional" in that France and Europe helped us fend off the British to win our freedom. Or that we got lucky and had the most badass President at the most critical point of American history, wherein he ended slavery and then won the war when the South decided that being racist pieces of shit was more important to them than anything.

There is no doubt that the DNC, including Debbie Wasserman Shultz, was discussing ways to sink Bernie's campaign from behind the scenes. The emails of them doing so was leaked.
What we don't know is if they ever implemented any of those ideas, or if it would have mattered even if they did.
What we do know is that Hillary won the primary and lost the general.
We also know that Trump's campaign wanted to run against Bernie because they thought they had a better chance against him. So, we have no real reason to think that Bernie would have won the general if he had been the democratic candidate.

Overall playing the what-if game is pretty much useless.

Why the fuck are you assholes still talking about that shit in this thread of all threads?

Put a sock in it already. I vote Democratic for my congress critters and. Presidental ticket. I vote for some local republicans based on competence. I don’t suffer idiots when it comes to running the state of I can help it (probably closer to 50/50 D/R). So, actually, Ive been voting against one of my interests at the federal level. And yet, you bash me on this several times a year. Either you have a bad memory or are a clueless troll.

Oh, and getting back to the point, I’m very much in favor of much more regulation of firearms - like, Australia style. God bless you and have a lovely day.

Meanwhile in Indiana a armed civilian dressed in shorts and a t-shirt at the mall with his girlfriend engaged and killed a active shooter with a AR-15 at a mall with a Glock handgun at 40 yards range.
