Just came by to shitpost.
I sort of understand peeps wanting to think of themselves as one sex or another, but even binary choices are now, at least in some circles, considered restrictive.
I can see racial "identity" eventually becoming somewhat fungible - if so, we'll Michael Jackson to thank for that. Did you know that there is now a topical ointment that can restore areas of skin suffering from vitiligo (a fairly common issue for a lot of black folk) back to it's original color. So I suspect that either thru genetic manipulation and or new drugs, it will probably be possible to have whatever skin tone you choose.
My problem with all of this is that I'm somehow expected to care about this shit. I don't, mainly because I just can't. I'll do what I can, within reason. So, I won't ask fat girls if they're pregnant. If someone wants to go by them/they, that really is a pretty ridiculous expansion of that usage but sure. I'll make my usual half-ass effort. But seriously, ya' all need to create some new pronouns and such because that gets real old real fast.
Neopronouns have existed since the 80s (really, longer if one wants to dig into the etymology), people tend to hate them (example: ze/zir/xe/xem) even more than singular they (which has a history that goes back centuries). Spivak pronouns (e/em/eir) are closer to "standard" but the fact they're different at all still seems to generate ire.Just came by to shitpost.

Maybe Red wants to see race based pronouns but we probably shouldn't go there.Neopronouns have existed since the 80s (really, longer if one wants to dig into the etymology), people tend to hate them (example: ze/zir/xe/xem) even more than singular they (which has a history that goes back centuries). That doesn't sound like fun at all.Incidentally, Farsi (Persian) has no gender pronouns at all. One has to determine gender from names and context.

I mean, you can typically charge a premium as a trans woman if you've still got your original equipment...Honestly based on personal experience, "trans" women can sometimes be picked out because they're just too hot looking/flawless to be realistic.
If you doubt this, head on over to an "escort-listing" website and check out how many of the prettiest "girls" are actually "trans"... more than you would think! (the vast majority are upfront about it btw which I totally respect)

You know, this is literally the first time I've ever heard of this being a thing. Why would they have been referred to as they/them back in the day?To be 100% clear I also have ZERO problem with any pronoun a person chooses to use to refer to themselves, however I feel the need to point out that back in the day, people got offended when referred to as "they" or "them", especially older ladies.
So to older folks those pronouns are often considered "rude" for reasons that have nothing to do with sexual identity.

Still unclear.I can personally recall being chastised several times for referring to people as "them"
I would prefer to remain straight...If you doubt this, head on over to an "escort-listing" website and check out how many of the prettiest "girls" are actually "trans"... more than you would think! (the vast majority are upfront about it btw which I totally respect)
Still unclear.
Example:
Mom, what's wrong with them?
Hush! Don't refer to them as "them"!
So my question, what were you told to refer to them as?
Hmm..I guess when you use them, you would look in their direction or point in that direction and that would be considered rude. I remember my father telling me strictly as a child not to point my finger at people.Usually "ma'am" or "Miss/Mrs" <insert last name>.![]()
I heard the same stuff. I think it's all stupid. Don't like what you hear, translate to something else.Usually "ma'am" or "Miss/Mrs" <insert last name>.
And as I mentioned I have no motivation to make this up.... remember to understand reality now you need to be aware of the past.
