People who want action, here's a suggestion in addition to impeachment. Mnuchin says he won't give the tax documents to the House so have him appear before the house, subpoena him in fact, then have a vote ready to hold him in contempt and march him to the Congressional jail. Perfectly legit and Trump can whine all he wants. He can challenge it in court and the House can drag it out as much as the WH and Senate could.

Yeah, they can be painted as anti-Trump, but when they fullness of his corruption is revealed, I think that would be welcomed by most Americans. Justice is an ideal that a lot of people like to see, especially when it is someone powerful facing ramifications for their immoral and traitorous choices.

Well, you have more confidence in the American people than I do, right now in this toxic political climate. You can safely right off Trumps 35 - 40 % but there is what I call the "mealy- mouthed middle". I see them often in our shop.

These voters say "Yeah, Trump is a douchebag - can't stand the guy myself. But I'm getting a steady paycheck and pay increases, and that wasn't happening a few years ago. I don't wanna just reverse everything because Trump's a d-bag." Sad but true..

For this part of American society the pay stub on payday beats "morality" and "institutional order" and the figure head of the "asshole boss" is just a common trope of life, not a deal-breaker.

And if you have a group of voters who think their perfect candidate had the election stolen by the DNC and they end up staying home. Like some of the hardcore Bernie Bros did last year.

He horrifies people, but not his base of supporters, and he doesn't seem to be horrifying many independents a lot more now than he was when many of them decided to vote for him despite their horror. He won an election with nearly 50% of the vote, which noticeably outperformed his miserable favorability ratings. Trump has always horrified and disgusted people - and many of them voted for him anyway.

Democrats are already doing everything they reasonably can to investigate Trump, and Trump is stretching the limits of his authority to the breaking point in order to obstruct said investigations. Bringing articles of impeachment isn't going to in any way affect his ability to do so.

I'm not really opposed to impeachment, provided that they don't assume that this type of congressional investigative process is going to fundamentally change the dynamics by itself. They need to win on issues. . The "Trump is an immoral law breaking scumbag" isn't going to carry the election alone IMO. They need to put the public interest ahead of impeachment. That's going to be hard to do once the Victimhood Smear Machinge goes into high gear. From latest polls I've seen, the public is cool on impeachment (at this time). We'll see what transpires in the coming months.

I know it, but for public support and pressure that might even lead to him leaving office on his own... everything helps.

trump will spend the rest of his life in court. The only time he isnt in court from here on out is while he is president. He is all or nothing at this point i.e he wont leave. We better hope he allows for a peaceful transition when he is elected out.

I suspect you are correct, unless he's presented with his original plan where he starts a TV enterprise to continue his relationship with his cult sans all the oversight.

Mueller already addressed that point. He said he could do that because then the president has no means to defend himself, as in there wouldn't be a trial to litigate the facts.

No. The wolves have sniffed out all his rotten shit and they are coming. The worst thing to happen to that man was actually winning the presidency. he has ruined his family as well.

what makes me mad is probably 90% of the billionairs out there are just like him. Cheated and stole until they are now untouchable.

We have a president actively telling people of his administration not to obey the lawful orders of Congress, if that's not an abuse of power and corruption of the presidency then maybe we aren't a democracy after all.

This is the kind of shit you read about places like Russia or Venezuela doing.

It's pretty clear he wasn't trying to be president and was simply using his run for office to help bolster a deal with Russia and wherever else hec thought it would benefit him.

That shoe could drop. I have no confidence it won't. Nor that it will. I have very little faith in the proceedings of the federal government at this juncture. The dirt on Trump is relatively astronomical. It's staggering. Now, Nixon's ass was grass. They had proof of the breakin and apparently Nixon had no power of argument that it wasn't under his direction.

Nixon wasn't sufficiently ruthless to just throw John Mitchell & the plumbers under the bus. Mitchell was the only connection to the break in. The cover up was where his tit went in the wringer. Trump's obstruction is much the same.

With all we know about Nixon's morals it's strange to think of him as being superior to Trump in this way yet that's way of things.
