FACT....
1. Everyone deserves representation, even a traitorous x president.
2. You can find a lawyer that will do absolutely anything, for a price.
3. The Trump lawyers are being paid money to do what they do.
4. Even a child molester can find a lawyer to defend his actions.
5. Even O. j Simpson found a lawyer to defend cold blooded murder.
5. When defending a murderer, child molester, school shooter, and a traitorous x president, any lawyer no matter who must be very creative. If that attorney has no legs to stand on, they revert to plan number two.... to distract.

Sometimes child molesters get off, sometimes mass murderers get off, sometimes embezzler’s get off, sometimes the attorney can make all the difference and allow guilt to go unpunished. But not this time, oh no... this time justice will prevail.

Trump's first attorney clearly wasn't prepared. He walked up with a yellow legal pad, like he just jotted down notes last minute. Jesus, would it have hurt you to type out notes for a Presidential Impeachment hearing.
And the second one had postit notes stuck to one item he held up as bookmarks, how amateur.

“If the facts are against you, argue the law. If the law is against you, argue the facts. If the law and the facts are against you, pound the table and yell like hell”. There are several variations of this quote by different people, but this is in essence what Trump's defense team is doing.... again, just like the first time.

Ps. You may wonder how any American could defend a traitor, defend a crook, defend an insurrection, defend the very overthrow attempts of our beloved United States, you may ask how could a person and citizen do this? The answer is easy, he’s a lawyer.

He keeps referring to Trump as an ordinary citizen, how many “ ordinary citizens “ get the perks and benefits Trump gets.

Well, as I feared, it's definitely aggravating and infuriating to listen to Schoen's closing arguments.

Senate just held a vote whether or not Trump can be impeached after leaving office, only 6 republican senators crossed party lines to say the trial should continue. So 6 Senators is max that you can expect to vote to convict.

I think he is Orthodox Jew.
OK. Brian Williams says they got all kinds of questions about this. Yes, apparently, Orthodox Jews cover their heads when they take a drink. I've only known conservative and reformed, that was new to me. It would seem it would create much less consternation to have just worn his Yamaka in the first place.

Like they have a poor defense argument, but this team of lawyers even more of a crackerjack team than last time.

Why waste money on talent when you know what the outcome will be.
Was exactly my thought. They could have walked into the chamber in clown suits, sang a song and juggled some hamsters, left, and GOP members would still acquit. It really doesn't matter and they have some idea of that. They basically just have to not look too foolish (I know, failed already).

Trumps lawyer is making it sound like barring Trump from running for office ever again is a bad thing. It appears that the primary goal here is to keep Trump eligible to run in '24. Because if that is taken away, the grifting train is derailed.

Castor, argued on the Senate floor that if Trump actually committed a “high crime or misdemeanor,” then he would have been criminally charged.

One side of mouth: “A president can’t be criminally charged. That is what impeachment is for”

Other side of mouth: “He can’t be impeached, because you should have criminally charged him”

If Trump didn’t want to be constantly under the threat of impeachment, he shouldn’t have committed so many impeachable offenses.

IT'S A CULT !!!!
For them, nothing has changed.
Their leader is still the leader and they believe the leader will be back. I think people fail to make the connection that the republican party, except for a very few, have been consumed into that cult. They would die for their leader, they would actually die, so defending a traitor who instigated an insurrection and tried to subvert an American election.... that defending of a traitor is nothing for them. They are just glad it has not come down to the drinking of the kool-aid... well, not just yet.
