Got mine from CompUSA and I absolutely love it. I have been playing plenty of HL2, CS:S, and Painkiller on it.. I definately do NOT miss my old 20" Trinitron.. I love this Hyundai.. I endorse it completely.
Dad bought one too and he is also thrilled with it, no QC issues with either of our 2 displays.

I haven't used an L90D, but I would have to assume thats not right, otherwise one of the reviews would have mentioned it. Actually, one of the reviews specifically mentioned how uniform the backlight is.

Jumped in, ordered from ZZF. Paid a few bucks extra to go through them due to past history and 2 day shipping included.
Can't wait for it to get here, although i'm really fearful of dead pixles and other issues![]()
It seems to be something of a gamble. I haven't kept stats but most buyers seem to say they have no DP's or stuck P's. The vast majority. The ones with stuck P's usually say they have to look for the defect to have any awareness of it. IOW, it wouldn't seem to be much of a problem. I saw a few posts from people who said they had a glaring pixel problem. In that event, you have to hope that Hyundai will help you out (i.e. replace your display). One person said he was successful in that. You can try talking to Andy Chia, who appears to be in charge of their RMA. I talked to him twice Friday. He answers the phone at 630-595-0123, in Illinois.Originally posted by: smcinsjc
I am 99% ready to buy one of these monitors, but I do not like the threat of receiving one with one or more bad or stuck pixels.
What is a person to do?
1 is not acceptable to me. I stare at my screen 12+ hours a day, and the last thing I want to be doing is staring at a bad pixel.
Any ideas on how to avoid this potential problem?

In case you don't know, the size of an LCD is more important than for a CRT in the sense that you will want to run your LCD at it's native resolution for virtually everything you do with it. That may not always be the case when you're gaming, but for general computing, you absolutely want to run at the native resolution. Myself, I decided I would prefer to run at 1280 x 1024 (the native res of a 19" LCD) rather than the 1600 x 1200 native res of a larger LCD. That's what I based my decision on, not the cost. I don't want a bigger one. However, there are people with bigger ones who say they definitely prefer the 1600 x 1200 res. I've never tried it, to be honest. But I think a lot of print would just appear to small for my taste.

muse, i really think you just got unlucky with a bad panel. i haven't kept up entirely thru the thread, but i believe you only got 1? not that it makes it better or anything, RMA's suk either way, but i'll be interested to hear your impressions when you get a proper unit.

Yes, I read at least one other post from a guy who had less than the 8 dead pixels presumably obliging HIQA to replace the L90D+ and got them to RMA. He had a very obtrusive pixel (at least one). I wasn't contacted by Andy today with my RMA number, so I'll call him tomorrow morning. I think they should have the number by now.Originally posted by: rivethead
Well guys and gals I have to say that I'm very impressed with Hyundai right now. If you read back through this thread, I reported that I got a panel with one stuck pixel (bright green on a black background). And this ONE pixel was in the almost exact center of the screen which made it noticeable.
I've had the unit 25 days and honestly I've tried to get used to it, but couldn't completely.
So I decided to plead my case to TigerDirect. They simply referred me to Hyundai.
Well Hyundai just called me at work today (I sent them an email this morning) and APOLOGIZED for the inconvenience of having one stuck pixel in the center of the screen. They're gonna have UPS pick it up and send me a new one.
I believe I talked with the Andy Chia (mentioned in an earlier post), but he said his name so fast I didn't catch it. Anyway, same deal as posted above, they're currently out of stock, but they'll get more on the 16th. No big deal for me as I've dealt with the one stuck pixel so far and a little longer won't hurt. I'm just glad I didn't pitch the CRT yet.
Anyway, five stars to Hyundai customer service for: 1) a phone call to apologize for the inconvenience, 2) thoroughly explaining the return process to me, and 3) most of all being flexible with their bad pixel policy. Remember, I have only ONE stuck pixel.
Props to Hyundai ImageQuest
