Oh goody, another Palin thread just because there is nothing serious to talk about today. TGIF!
Y'all know my opinion, it hasn't changed since she became the nominee for VP the last go around. She has every chance to win the Presidency should she choose to make a fight of it.
Palin is someone who has more smarts and more experience than most give her credit for. Especially now, after all of the partisan Dems have acted as such attack dogs and toughened her up, let her know how they play the game.
She has a tenacious will to win, but her way of winning is not going to be yours.
Is she a Reagan? No! But she is someone who seems to me very like Teddy Roosevelt in presentation, not in policy positions. I could imagine the two of them going on a hunt or on a river expedition and getting along fine. I haven't seen her new show on Alaska, but you get what I mean if you have. BTW, how many aspiring Presidential candidates have a weekly TV show that the whole family can tune in and enjoy and do, to the tune of five million viewers?
She has a very loyal following as lots of people admire frontierism, including me. A passionate base is essential. McCain did not have one and that is why he lost.
Yes, she will have to present a solution to the problems at hand that everyone else thinks makes more sense than Obama, does anyone think that is especially hard? I don't think she can run solely as an anti-Obama, but give the Dems another two years and it might just be that an "anyone but Obama" fervor could sweep her into office.
For all of you hoping that the taint of scandal will keep her down, keep dreaming. All of those efforts were only spurious political attacks and had no substance whatsoever.
What might keep her down would be the appearance of a candidate that has some level of her charisma and a strong economic background, throw a military background in for a perfect blend as we will likely see a global conflict down the line of some sort.
I'll end here as I need another espresso, but take a gander at this excellent and insightful article and tell me who is better positioned to win the Republican nomination, and maybe the White House, than Palin -
Palin Aides Relish Beltway's Skepticism
