So I figured that maybe someone would like to know about Fry's return policies and practices, but I guess everyone here is morally correct, has never committed a sin, and therefore judge a consumer.

So I now agree that i have

1. caused all prices in fry's to go up because I chose to follow their written return policy
2. an arse for puchasing an item, but choose to go with another item that suited me better and just wanting the money i paid for it
3. causing the entire retail world to lose their balance because I am the only customer that returns things to fry's open and i am to blame for all those "open box" stickers.

I'm sorry for bringing this up to everyone attention, whether you agree with what you did or not, I was only trying to help others to might be put in the same situation. What if you bought a 500 ipod that broke in a week and you just wanted your money back for the item you paid.

sorry sorry sorry.. let this thread die please

btw here is the link to fry's return policy. I feel like I have followed in every way, but that's your opinion.

return policy

We've all committed sins, and there isn't anything spectacularly bad about this, but you could at least try to understand why people are getting on your case. Return policies are there to protect the customer, but not help them take advantage of the store. You try opening a store and see how you feel when a customer buy a product from you and returns it 3 days later with a full refund...and then remind yourself that that was his/her plan all along...

and just so your "point" doesn't get ignored, yes that tax thing seems strange, but at the same time others are right, you're lucky they didn't charge you a restocking fee....

I dont know why all of you are flamming him. Havent you ever bought something, found a better deal, returned it and got the other one? Or have you bought something and figured out it wasnt right for you and return it? He needed a card for his comp to run while he was waiting for his real card. He should get his money back for what he purchased and doesnt want anymore.

Btw when Fry's resells stuff that was returned they take a VERY small amount off the original price. Ive seen from as low as 5 cents on a keyboard to 3 dollars on a used video card.

That is different, and most retail stores have pricematching guarantees so that you could recoup your money without actually returning it.

If you buy something you should be intending to keep it. If your intention is to return it shortly thereafter (effectively just borrowing it), then you should just go without.

I still can't believe the OP made such a big deal about the difference in sales tax.

I would love to hear that he did buy those FX CPUs and then tried returning them at the other store with the higher sales tax and they just refunded the money he originally spent and not anymore, and then find out he got thrown in jail for going crazy.

To the OP, you need to seriously chill the f*ck out. Its a-holes like you who have made it so difficult to return things at so many stores anymore. The more you abuse it, the more it gets taken away.

The other thing you need to consider is in your example of "profiting" from the tax issue it is NOT the store that you'd be taking money from, but the municipality in which you returned the item.

How am I an idiot? My vidcard dies so I need a replacement. There's no where in the policy that says I need to keep my purchase. I kept everything in mint condition and only used it for 3 days. It was a ****** card anyways so I just wanted my money back.

you are scum.

return policy

if i buy an ipod and i decide "yeah this isn't worth the money" it's way different from me saying "i'm going to buy this ipod, use it on my trip then return it." the intent wasn't to purchase an item, it was the borrow it for a few days. frys isn't a loan center.

and because of you i might not be able to return my ipod, because frys/best buy/whatever had to stop allowing returns of certain items because of abuse of the return policy.

You bought a video card with the intent of returning it, and complain abnout .25% in tax? Even if it was a $100 video card, that's 25 cents.

yea screw that guy, cant you wait 3 days. You were lucky you didnt get charged restocking fee. I hope you spent a lot of money on gas driving, you cheap ass.

Okay so you guys made your point. My initial post was meant to warn others in case they were not checking their receipts. Thanks guys for jumping on the bandwagon. Not once have I echoed a slur or jump to call names.

So I now agree with everyone that I am the villian here. I'll go ahead and change the topic and agree.

no one's saying they're perfect, but everyone saying your a moron for actually complaining for getting charged a few cents when you were intending on renting a video card, screwing the company out of at least 10-15% on the resale of the card because u wanted to borrow it.

i hope someone key his car in the fry's parking lot.

I don't care if you changed your mind or not, a man that thinks he is doing the right thing doesn't need to listen to what some band-wagonners have to say.

If what you are doing is % 100 legal than go for it PERIOD and profit??? No! e (profit???)^(infinity)
I remember the historic (or at least that's how I like to call it) Best Buy's memory fiasco, yes I legally made $ 800 of BB from 5 different locations (friends were very willing to screw them too 😉) and gave away BB coupons everywhere even to strangers.

Don't like it flame away, now why did I do it ?

Well :

1- BB screwed me over lots of times, like with their policy about a purchase that was a bit over $ 2000 for home equipment and what not via their hidden unannounced secret policies that I wasn't notified about until they were sure it was too late for me to change mind about the purchase.
They had the option of making an exception due to their own error.
But NO they didn't they noticed that there was a chance to make more money out of me and they WENT FOR IT AND RAPED MY WALLET AND PATIENCE WITH NO MERCY!!!

2- Of course easy money is sweet. Oh wait it wasn't easy money!
Every time I picked a couple of memory sticks the Store Manager / MOD would have me wait for two continuous hours just standing there, even though he just got off the phone with the corporate office and I heard them on my own speaker phone saying GIVE HIM THE MEMORY IMMEDIATELY!

PS : I called on the mofo and went as high on the management ladder as possible and YES I got him fired, why ? Well he broke the law (BB's law) too many times with me and he had it coming to him.

3- due to the above 2 points I was relentless with the memory fiasco I fvcked them hard and I LOVED IT!!!!!

I don't understand this society, you are an asshole if you follow the law and your an asshole if you don't 😕

Then would I be a asshole / pervert if I had consensual sexual relationship with girl that is one day far from being 18 or am I a asshole / pervert if I let her wait a day or what ?

Take your pick people either people are cool for breaking the law or they are cool if they don't, both conditions can't be satisfied at the same time!

Stop pushing your double standards on others.

I CAN go to a store like Fry's or BB and tell them in their face that I AM BUYING THIS VIDEO CARD BECAUSE I AM WAITING ON FVKING NEWEGG'S LAME UPS SHIPPING SERVICE TO GET ME MY CARD AND I WILL RETURN YOUR'S ONCE I GET THE NEWEGG ONE, and no they can't do sht about it.
