At least you didn't actually get hit by either of them. I got hit by a woman driver last week and she blamed me for it even though she MERGED into me on the freeway (not an onramp merge either, this was just normal lane changing). Luckily a few days ago an eye witness called the number on my truck (for work) and said they wanted to help if she placed blame on me. Her insurance company immediately accepted full responsibility despite her claim based on the witness.

Stereotypically, forum posters have never had a girlfriend, does that make it true on ATOT?

Stereotypically, and the list goes on.

Stereotypes are not true a large part of the time. They are only believed to be true a large part of the time by those outside of the group being stereotyped.

glutenberg you miss the point completely, stop making up accusations etc...want to argue about the fairness of stereotypes..go create your own thread...

BTW are you a women or highly effeminte, because I have only heard those types of people use "stroking your ego." If you are hurt by the stereotype then sorry, but if you are not then you are being a generally sterotypical jackass getting his nose in stuff for the point of getting his nose in crap...kind of sounds like a troll....hmm

It's not that I'm hurt by stereotypes, it's that I felt the need to point out the illegitimacy of your stereotype. In regards to the second half of your post, I can barely understand what you're trying to tell me. Getting my nose in stuff for the point of getting my nose in crap? Honestly, would you like to re-read that post?

I keep coming back because you keep allowing me to. Simple as that. Plus, I fail to see where you designated that this thread will only be meant for those who want to get together and bash women drivers. I guess I missed that in your post or your thread title.

Also, if I'm a troll, than so are you. Definition of troll:

One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument

You posted this thread completely bashing a gender, trying to invoke an argument and you're going to call me a troll?

Good rant.
My favorite obnoxious/dangerous/reckless behavior on the road: I have a friend (dude) who types out SMSs while driving a car AND also while riding a motorcycle. Beat that! :p

Good grief, what is wrong with people. I think that most drivers have no understanding of what will happen to them when they loose control of their car. Especially on a two lane road with on coming traffic. Tailgater's automatically qualify for dumb.

I would say longer traffic schools would be the way to go. That'll never happen.

Stereotypes are most certainly true a lot of the time....if they weren't, then that particular stereotype wouldn't ever be a stereotype, would it?

Seriously...if only one rapper in the history of rap had ever been or even dressed like a gangsta, would everyone still think that all rappers are gangstas?

Do you think all referees are deaf, dumb, blind, (and named Tommy) because only one of them has ever consistently blown calls?

Do you think only one or two old people have ever had no business behind the wheel?

Etc, etc....it's far easier to prove stereotypes than disprove them. That's because they are true a lot of the time.

Yesterday I drove behind a mustang where the chic was tying her ponytail as her car was moving at about 40mph. I saw both hands working the pony tail. One other time, again while the vehicle was moving, a lady was busy putting on her lipstick and looking at herself in the rearview mirror while applying. Cripes.

i was rearended by a female driver on wednesday night. i stopped for a red light, she talked on her cell phone and barreled into me. her insurance is paying for my current rental.

12 hours later, my brother was rear ended at a red light by a female driver. has a strained back and is on percocet.

i thought the timing and situations were pretty interesting.

i don't think female drivers are worse per se, i think they tend to care less about the way they drive than men tend to.

i must be in the small percentage of women who has an impeccable driving record and the only accident i was in was caused by a male driver.

yes Virginia, there are women like this.

I recently started playing NFS HS's again about a month ago (I stopped since then), but I realized that I should NOT play it right before going out to drive because after an hour of intense concentration on trying to get my McLauren F1 GTR around the Nurburgring a millisecond faster, I started to think that was on the road...it scared me for a second when I realized I was going to go into a turn and wanted to slide my back end out. :Q

Collision damage cannot be turned off in real life.

Ever wonder why stereotypes are created by those outside of the group and rarely from within? Is it because the people outside the group have little to no understanding of the said group and instead of investing the mental resources to learning about the object of the stereotype, they go with the easy way out of picking one aspect (typically negative) and blow it out of proportion to a point where that it defines that class? This is nothing new. It's not like there haven't already been numerous studies about stereotypes.
