i want to give him hope and encouragement

what? hope and encouragement on ATOT? blasphemy! not from this cesspit of despair and hate!

i am trying to be a new kinder, gentler FoBoT

And I truly appreciate it!

Though I have a sense of humor about the naysayers, my forum stupidity gave them much fuel to work on.

Shame on all of you, you know who you are.

Congrats freedomsbeat212, I hope everything works out for you both, sincerely!
No sh!t. Too bad more people didn't follow the saying, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything."

Congrats.

OPs supposed fiance is average looking, and i still doubt that you would be able to hit anything close.

either shens or you're dumber or more pathetic than i thought...

Not shens and not pathetic. I've dated a LOT and most of my YAGTs here were due to either insecurity on my side or because of frustrations caused by things not clicking with these random girls.

Here is a girl who's beautiful, smart (has her masters), career driven yet family oriented. She's perfect and she obviously loves me. I wouldn't have proposed to her if there wasn't a magical connection. I never believed in love at first sight until I met her but, even then, we gave it a year as friends before attempting to date. Now that we started dating, things fell together perfectly.

We're very different on the surface but, deep down, we have similar goals and a similar outlook. We also get each other in ways that transcend words, it's hard to explain but all of my friends get it. They were shocked by the speed of it all but all agree that she's perfect for me, and vice versa.

My my, you have a LOT to learn about women. You'll soon find out how unperfect she is. People should be dating long enough to know their partner isnt "perfect" before they get married.

I am guessing the other one was on his banned account.

This thread reminds me of Dezign's thread a year or two back. (AT Attention (ahem) Seeker with plenty of YAGTs, engaged after a few weeks, married shortly after.) I wonder if she and her guy are still married.

Hahaha yeah no doubt. The Internet's great, and so are forums, but I'm guessing a majority would act quite a bit different in real-life when someone could punch them in the face for the non-stop sh!t-talking.

Be even better if you added, "and he made me sign a waiver for it!" :p You should do that Freedom, I think it'd get a couple laughs on here :D.

Yep, that post about the tv was short sighted and silly. I was being paranoid about bad past experiences, not anything she's done. She's a good, christian girl who has a sense of humor... So it'll work!
So what's she doing with a whore like you?

This forum is proof that I've dated quite a bit and have found the whole dating thing so frustrating. With Melissa, things have been surreally perfect - everything is clicking magically into place.

01/03/09 is the wedding date - it's all happening quickly but its all very exciting.

Melissa looking dreamy with her new haircut

Awwww!

She's on the.. Bottom?

Me and her being goofballs before the "prom" (friend's themed birthday)

wow..... just wow....

i hope you can prove the majority wrong.

edit: lose the last picture. she looks really old in that one, kinda Hillary Clinton-esque, and you don't show up. :p

Thanks for the kind words and being a class act.

I must add that I deserve all of the doubt and harshness stated in this thread - I've been a tool and my threads have been major proof of my self esteem issues.

I'm working through them and feel like this is a major step toward my maturation. My sister had similar concerns that I still have growing up to do. Hell, I have the same concerns. But Melissa said something very important to me - "we all have growing up to do. Maturation doesn't have a set destination and we could wait forever, or grow up together." That was a discussion we had before I proposed, and it meant a lot to me.

So i'm not angry about the negative energy here, I deserve it so I won't and cant' defend myself. She does not. She's an amazing girl and I'm proud I proved myself to her, and that's all that matters. I won't be snuggling with forum strangers, after all.

Are you kidding me? Getting engaged in a month is a step in the wrong direction (this coming from somone who was engaged after 4 months, but at least I was 20). This is exactly why everyone here (and prob in real life) makes fun of you. It feels nice to sugarcoat everything and make it sound so "magical", but in the end it's your actions that matters most.

Thanks for the laugh though. I really needed this today!

Seriously, why get engaged after only one month of dating? Why not after a year or two at least? You seriously don't even know each other. Being friends and dating are two different animals.

Sorry to say it, but it's going to end ugly.

Love all the people that can't fathom how a relationship not exactly like theirs could possibly work.

QFT! Seriously......how fvcking dumb can you be dude? 1 month???? You need to live together for 12 months before you even consider such a thing.

your a disgrace. :Disgust;

you are still in the honeymoon phase. You probably haven't even had a real fight yet. This is fvcking doomed. There is NO WAY this can possibly work. I will take any bets on this.

What odds are you offering and what time frame? I might be willing to bet they are together in a year. Let me know, I can always use more money!

Ah yes, I forgot she changed her name to MrsBugi. Searches for Tomato didn't yield many current results.

While this thread is surprising, I unfortunately have a "real life" friend that just got married last month after seeing the girl for only a few months. The reason though, and I don't know if it's better or worse, is that he did it, in part, so that she could stay in the US. I guess I'll see how that one goes.

Wow, and I thought getting engaged after 13 months then married 8 months later was going a bit fast...
