They took it very well. I was pretty smart with the whole thing, inviting her to church with us before breaking the news. They're most happy that she (like them) is Christian and religious at that.

so will she start posting here now? I think she should. have you shown her your yagt threads?

We've been insanely honest. Introduced her to a few of my ex's even, stating that I was an immature tool when dealing with women in the past and made many, many mistakes. Luckily these mistakes did not involve illegitimate kids so she's ok with them!

you did not asnwer the mans questions

Makes me wonder if her answer would have still be yes after she found out you were considering having her sign a piece of paper about a TV.

Either way...congrats.

QFT! Seriously......how fvcking dumb can you be dude? 1 month???? You need to live together for 12 months before you even consider such a thing.

your a disgrace. :Disgust;

you are still in the honeymoon phase. You probably haven't even had a real fight yet. This is fvcking doomed. There is NO WAY this can possibly work. I will take any bets on this.

Ahh, so your family is Christian. I guess that helps.

Cool, congrats to you!

Not shens and not pathetic. I've dated a LOT and most of my YAGTs here were due to either insecurity on my side or because of frustrations caused by things not clicking with these random girls.

Here is a girl who's beautiful, smart (has her masters), career driven yet family oriented. She's perfect and she obviously loves me. I wouldn't have proposed to her if there wasn't a magical connection. I never believed in love at first sight until I met her but, even then, we gave it a year as friends before attempting to date. Now that we started dating, things fell together perfectly.

We're very different on the surface but, deep down, we have similar goals and a similar outlook. We also get each other in ways that transcend words, it's hard to explain but all of my friends get it. They were shocked by the speed of it all but all agree that she's perfect for me, and vice versa.

A month is pretty quick to move from dating to engaged regardless of how long the two of you have known each other. I do hope it works out for you though, and I wish you the best.

i knew 2 people at my last job that got married very soon. one day they came into work and were married. about a year later they split up, even after having a kid together.

even though you aren't getting married right away, it must add or put some strain on the relationship?

She's read all of my blogs dealing with the girls... YAGTs are censored versions of my blogs, really.

We all have pasts, I've only had sex with 9 girls - she guessed 40 based on my blogs and my wild dating habits. If she was ok with 40 I can't imagine my YAGTs phasing her. She said my past is my past and how I treat her now is what matters. To be clear, I invited her out to meet some of my exs, to show that I may have been immature in dating but have changed. I actually think my problems with women stemmed from depression and insecurities, and I've been much more sane lately, thanks to therapy and a wonder drug called lexapro.

I've treated other girls poorly, I admit to that. I'm different now, different enough that a brilliant and beautiful girl wants to be my Mrs. I can't excuse the stupidity of the past and can't blame you kids for mocking me, but all around me know that I've turned a new leaf.

is she the one that borrowed the TV?

Thanks :)
Yep, that post about the tv was short sighted and silly. I was being paranoid about bad past experiences, not anything she's done. She's a good, christian girl who has a sense of humor... So it'll work!

she's marrying you for your TV.

that's terrific and sounds almost exactly how I met my wife. She is beautiful, intelligent(masters, bilingual), loves her job, and wants to eventaully be a stay at home mother. Everything I could have possibly asked for.

Damn it, I'm forgetting something... Oh yeah, we got divorced.

I actually told her of my concerns about the TV and she understood, even though I let it pass. I didn't keep my thought process quiet, I've been very honest.
