Lol, lies! Anyways, I just bought the DVD version of UT2K4, and I'll enjoy both the games.

Sorry to hear that, but i'm enjoying this game now. I almost never have a lag problem (maybe having a F/O connection helps), and it never took me more than a minute to find a server. Note that games are constantly changing coz ppl are constantly joining and leaving servers.

There are certainly issues with this game, but at least no weapon/class is really overpowering. Not everything makes sense, after all it's a game not a sim so the designers have to sacrifice realism for game play. I wish there's a realism setting so ppl can create game servers that play like Ghost Recon if they wanted.

As for the sniper problem, I found that if you play smart you can do very well as a sniper too, but certain maps are better suited for sniper than others. As a matter of fact, I have the best kill/death ratio playing sniper and air defense besides tanks.

My main gripes with this game is that there's lag sometimes when i click on a game in server browser, and it's too slow to list the servers in the browser, and it takes too long to verify client data when joining games.

"Verifying Client Data" takes minutes for every freakin Map change! WTF?

After playing a couple Map changes daily for a week, I went back to CS:S. I'm hoping the next patch fixes it up, but at this time I have little interest in buying any expansion for it.

Agreed.... The machine gun is just as worthless as the sniper rifle...Infantry Weapons shouldn't have any arc or delay firing.

The game is pretty dispointing, 2Gbs of ram? C'mon.

You mean the rocket launcher? That's not the main gun. The APC's main gun is the canon. Very powerful IMO especially since it has burst shells. I can't tell you how many kills I've gotten because infantry think they are safe hiding from me around a corner or ducking behind a wall and I just fire the canon in their area and get a kill.

Some guns (all vehicle machine guns from what I can see) go through those thin metal fences as well.

I'm running the game just fine on a barton 1.8/9800/1GB.

you guys should try Desert Combat. Helos cannot surivive a direct hit from a M1 or T72, The M25 takes 2 body shots or 1 headshot(though there are some maps that spawn the M-82 .50cal 1 hit kill sniper rifle). The M249 is inaccurate when standing up, more accurate when crouching and full accurate when prone. None of the infantry weapons have any drop off arc but the Tank gun and SMAW/RPG have arcs as well as some of the bigger guns. Best of all, it dosent lag(AMD64 2.4ghz, 1gb ram, geforce2 ultra at 10x7 medium-high, around 16-40 ping on my favorite server and usually less than 100ping.)

The only problem i have is with a Stinger. No sort of seeking whatsoever so it's a very highly skilled weapon(need to lead target).

i loved it when i could just fire up my SNES Mario Kart or whatever game, spend 1/2 seconds in the menu and go into a race or battle with a friend. now for XBOX, PS2, whatever, it takes forever with stupid company logo movies. I GET IT YOU MADE THE GAME, let me play the damn thing!

Same for PC, remember how fast Commander Keen or Doom 1/2 loaded on your DOS on a 386? now we have Pentium dual core Athlon 64-bit what nots and graphic card that are more powerful than computers 5 years ago, and we're stuck watching a whole bunch of stupid movies game developers decide we should view every time we load a game before that 1 minute load time.

Stand in the street and get grazed by a Semi (probably closest thing to an APC you'll find). Get back to me with how you feel.

I don't like the TK system (I killed a helicopter and the remains landed on a teammate and I got a TK, then he got revived and the remains blew up, giving me another TK) and the fact that the Blackhawk is almost invincible with engineers on it.
