Im done playing Bf2

the latest patch hardly fixed anything. Trying to join an online game WITHOUT LAG is like pulling teeth. there are so many damn things wrong with the game, half of which is their crappy multiplayer mode. It freezes half the time when you click on a server, and your server filters dont work the other half. I try to filter out servers that are full and 90% of the servers that come up are full. 😕 WTF is wrong with EA? The game drives me nuts, AND IM NOT EVEN PLAYING YET!

In game problems:

1) a helicopter can survive a direct hit from a tank

2) if you graze a moving vehicle, you automatically die

3) the sniper rifles might as well be a stick

...more to come, there are to many right now that i cant even get them into my head. if you think of some, let me know and ill add them in

anyway, im fed up with this game. It has potential, but they need to fix all that sh!t.

"EA GAMES...WE ARE MENTALLY CHALLENGED" thats what it should say when you lead the game and it FORCES you to listen to their crappy slogan.

Amen...

I quit BF2 and just started playing xbox live all the time.

If they fix those issues the game would be a great deal of fun... it's unfortunate they'd rather release expansions.

I believe the patch scheduled for the end of August is supposed to address most of these issues.

Whether that will fix them or not is an entirely different story. 😉

yeah, expand on a game that needs fixed. 😕 WTF is wrong with them? But seriously, it takes a solid 10 minutes from the time you open BF2 before you can expect to even JOIN an online game. Its that crappy. And even when you do join, the lag is so unbearable most of the time.

and where are all the vehicles that were in Desert Combat? there were so many awesome vehicles in there that are missing. The vehicle selection sucks IMO.

EA blows... but I still play the game. But only for about 30 minutes otherwise the bugs start really annoying me. (Try sniping, they nerfed the sniper so bad it's not even funny.)

edit: the one thing that REALLY annoys me is that you have to go through the opening sequence everytime you open up the game. Is there a way to skip the intro screens?

Same thing happened with BF1942 when it first came out. The game was complete junk, it took numerous patches and probably 6 months before the game functioned correctly. EA has the formula for these games down solid, they know people will eat it up no matter what they stick on the shelves.

yeah, ill add that in to my main post

here's a difference between company philosophies

Valve = quality games
EA = profit

and there you have it. reason why BF2 looks like its a 50% finished game

I'm glad that us the loyal customer is PAYING to be their beta testers. Far too many software companies do this, especially EA they are the worst. There needs to be some kind of legislation against it.

Go to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Movies and change all the movie files except menu.bik and menu_loggedin.bik to another name. That will kill all the intro screens.

Yes....just what we need....games released to government standards...

yeah its bugged as hell

1. Patch 1.02 is broken, have to go through some back doors to install it

2. Takes 5 minutes to start the game, 5 minutes to join a server.

3. That bit about touching moving cars = instant death

4. Sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow loading times

5. Even slower loading times

and yes I have 1gb ram and a athlon 64 3500+ .. no game should be like this

This is why I never bought it. BF1942 had too many issues until 1.6.whatever, and even then it still wasn't perfect. EA does, indeed, blow.

1 gig of ram sometimes does not cut it....you lose a LOT of the problems if you upgrade to 2

i dont agree big brother getting involved, maybe some kind of a third party non profit watchdog group for the consumers/gamers

i loved it when i could just fire up my SNES Mario Kart or whatever game, spend 1/2 seconds in the menu and go into a race or battle with a friend. now for XBOX, PS2, whatever, it takes forever with stupid company logo movies. I GET IT YOU MADE THE GAME, let me play the damn thing!

Same for PC, remember how fast Commander Keen or Doom 1/2 loaded on your DOS on a 386? now we have Pentium dual core Athlon 64-bit what nots and graphic card that are more powerful than computers 5 years ago, and we're stuck watching a whole bunch of stupid movies game developers decide we should view every time we load a game before that 1 minute load time.

I've been playing with 1gig of RAM on my Athlon 64 2800+ and 6600GT with out much of a problem on medium settings. The biggest time killer seems to be the "Verifying Client Connection" bit.

1. If the helicopter died to a tank in 1 hit, nobody would ever fly it. A direct hit from a tank takes away 75% of the health, stray machine gun fire can set the chopper on fire at that point.

Picture this: Tank hits chopper and chopper is left with 3 bars of health. At 2 bars, the chopper is on fire and will lose health until it explodes (unless you are right next to a hellipad, it is time to bail out). All the tank has to do is fire some secondary rounds into the chopper or get into the gunner seat for half a second to down the chopper. Exactly why does it have to be any easier than that? I've seen plenty of tank pilots take down choppers.

2. This is a problem that needs to be fixed. Especially since as it is right now, people can sit on your vehicle when you stop and force you to get a TK.

3. There are plenty of snipers that have no problem getting significant kills, I believe my friend has a 3:1 kill ratio with the sniper rifle and it works plenty good. My only real concern with it is a better way to know if you made a shot. I think you should see the hit indicator while reloading the sniper rifle.
