Then why don't try to come up with a shortened, easier to pronounce version of your name?
I have a co-worker that goes by Taj. His real name is something like Tajikalapinan or some such.
or maybe go with first two initials?
I like that idea much better. Most people find names like that interesting. Infinitely better than a name like "Apple" (some celebrity did that) and much better than "Frank" in my opinion. You said earlier that your real name does not matter, but I think it does. Even keeping your real name would be cool in my book. I would probably stumble over it, but that is nothing against you and I would try my darndest to get it right. And anybody who does hold it against you, that is their problem, not yours. I would suggest either keeping your real name or going with an abreviated form of your real name.

I've tried that, but it doesn't work, unless I want people to call me "Fa"
Surely that is not the only option 😱

If you change to frank, you gotta let people call you frankie.

I know a lot of people change their names when they move here mostly because of the difficulty people have saying/remembering names that are not native here. I have a friend who swears she doesn't get called for job interviews because the HR people don't know how to say her name.

Isn't Frank a German name? How did you get from Muslim to German? 😕

Well, at least if you're going to change your name to something American, change it to something American! 😛

I just like the name and think it sounds closest to my original name. Why do so many people think that just because I'm muslim i must be asian, well i not, I'm albanian.

Frank is an awesome name, but don't change your name to it - Frank is my name and I hate it when there are other guys named Frank . . .

I think that Bob is a great name. But Frank is fine too. And changing your name is perfectly fine. I dont know why anyone would have problems with it.

Changing my name to Frank on my citizenship app from a traditional muslim name. The name actually means "free" [edit]. So what do you guys think? Any other suggestions?

Reasons why I want to change my name:
1. Not an easy name for people to remeber
2. I've denounced my religion of Islam [not my ethnicity]. Now I'm atheist/agnosic
3. Don't like it personally
4. Really hard to pronounce for most people

Btw, I'm planning on keeping my original first name as a middle name.

I thought you were talking about changing your
ATOT name. Duh.😱

Well good luck, with your choice. 🙂
