I'm back from China and got married there

You have to realize they have a vested interest in becoming a US citizen. Also there are very very few women in any modern country that are the total subervient stereotype most have of overseas women esp in Asia.

Having a penpal/email/chat buddy overseas and finally meeting them and continuing a relationship works for some for a while, but unless either is ready to make a move at some point, fruitless.

I was brought up Southern Baptist and I used to believe in the doctrine so strongly that I was like a mini-Jerry Falwell. Changing your view of the world is hard for some people.

If you are confident enough with yourself, anyone who likes sex/being sexual will know picking the virgin is the worst choice in the book, unless of course you are cheating on the side. Some look at their wives/mother's of their kids as 'family' and not 'lover'.

If I remembered correctly, you're Vietnamese also.

I'm 34 and not getting any younger and I am very tempted to go back to Vietnam and find myself as close to a wholesome girl as I can.
I just find that alot of Asian girls in the states are jaded.
I'm decent looking, have plenty of money but I find myself wanting to take the easy route and marry someone in Vietnam.

I don't think there is anything wrong with this marriage even though the US Citizenship probably played a big role in this marriage.

There is nothing wrong with a woman wanting to better her life. I don't really think it is shallow. If you think about it, in Asian cultures, woman tend to marry for a better life. Is it really a crime wanting to live in a first world country?

Even here in the USA, we have the so-called "gold diggers" and "trophy wives", she is no different. Whether it is marrying for money or citizenship, I don't see anything necessarily wrong of wanting to live life in comfort. Everybody want nice things, just because somebody want nice things does not mean that he or she is shallow. There is no overall formula that says marrying for money/citizenship = shallow. If you think that, you are probably shallow yourself. Rather, I would still judge a person based on their overall character, not just solely on the desire of wanting to live better.
