I'm amazed at how just a few pounds can make you feel crappy(ier)

Arguably, I'm somewhat overweight to begin with. Here's the lead in on the tape:

Male, 34
Height: 6' 0"
Current Weight (as of this morning): 194lbs

I see my ideal being somewhere around 165-170lbs, and people will probably argue that's too much. Growing up through my early 20's, I topped out between 145-150lbs. Lately, my average as been around 185lbs, usually swinging between 182 and 190.

Personally, today, I feel like shit. Not emotionally, but physically. I'm up about 3 pounds since last week, and have been physically feeling ill, exhausted (though that's partially due to fatigue from lack of "good" sleep, though I tend to believe that that lack is also partly caused by weight). I feel unbalanced and someone less coordinated than usual.

This isn't a "help me AT" post, but rather something I felt like sharing. I know what I need to do. Motivation is and always will be my number one problem, but that's my problem. I'm just shocked that these last few pounds (I felt mostly fine at 185) have made me feel physically the way I do.

It could also be the other way around, in that your poor lifestyle/exercise/diet is leading to a gain in weight, weight-gain being a symptom (along with fatigue, lack of good sleep, lack of coordination) rather than a cause.

Also, I doubt anyone will say weighing 165-170 at 6' is too much. I would say anything between 170 and 220 can be perfectly healthy for someone of that height, depending on build, lean mass, etc. Body fat percentage is a better barometer of health than scale weight.

"Weight" is meaningless if you are 194lbs of lard.

I'm 3 inches shorter than you and weigh only slightly less, but my weight is lean and mean.

Heh, I have quite the opposite. I am 6' 5" and it is very difficult for me to gain weight, and that bugs me. I try to eat as much as possible each day, and maintain going to the gym 3x a week. I am getting there, but its a long road for a guy like me.

Maybe it's not so much the weight itself as it is a combination of a) the lack of sleep, b) the foods you've been eating to cause you to gain weight, and c) the psychological factors that are contributing to (a) and could be a contribution to (b)?

A few extra pounds is not going to make your body ill, the human body is adept at operating under diverse conditions including weight fluctuations.

Feeling ill, lack of sleep, weight gain, exhaustion, are all related. You've identified the weight as the root cause of it all but I see it as another symptom and not the cause. In your case I think you're blaming weight since you seem focused on reaching what you view as an ideal weight for yourself, since you aren't at that weight now you blame your current problems on it. There's really no ideal weight, there's no reason you can't feel physically normal now even if you are overweight.

I'd examine other areas of your life to try to find the cause. Maybe you need a medical checkup to see if you are sick with something? Have you been stressing out about something lately?

Honestly, any one of those can be the cause of the others. Weight gain most definitely contributes to that. If the OP is eating well and not a bunch of trash, then something should be checked out. If not... then it's likely the weight contributing to all of that, in addition to other bad habits (especially sleep schedule).
