Wait a second. It's a known fact that there were hundreds of illegal immigrants standing in one place? Why weren't they immediately thrown in cattle trucks and hauled off?

On top of that, my siblings and I are pitching in to pay for our younger brother's tuition out of our own pocket. What right do these illegal immigrants demand money from the government who they don't pay taxes to?

the poeple who voted yes are most likely illegal immigrants! 😛

That might hurt their feelings. We wouldn't want to upset the feelings of people who should have never been inside the US in the first place.

Get used to it..the lib.dems are hell bent on income re-distribution and voter rights for illegal aliens and boarder jumpers. Tax payers have no rights anymore.

Sounds insanely messed up to me, I hate to say it but these imagrants are becoming moochers. Filling up the job market, filling up the public school's with 5+ children per family. The ghetto part of the bay area (Canal) has about 8 to 10 people to a 2 bedroom apartment(read this in the local newspaper), gang fight's and tons of drunk driving accidents. The west coast is becoming Mexico I swear, there's a frikin Taco shop on like every city block. In the school I went to, whites were the minority taking up just over 19% of the school attendance, 5% were black and other(other being every other race known to man), and 76% were Latino/Hispanic. Why dont other countries just follow in American footsteps as far as Government goes? I think America has shown that it's willing to help in such area's, has it not?

Well look at the fobby asians that come with no common sense, no sense of manners, and no sense of discipline. The fobby asian woman in her 20s-40s are the worst drivers i have ever seen (stopping in the middle of the fscking intersection at a green light to pick someone up)

Heck everyone cheats the government, asians with an lexus rx having free lunches and using food stamps, hispanics in mervs with free lunches, people from the middle east collecting welfare check and are on mediCAL while they drive mervs and beamers..

I'm going to play Devil's Advocate here:

But think of the ramifications of these humans being educated. If we increased the availability of a college education to more people, then a larger percentage of our population would be educated past high school level. They would become a better citizen; able to critically think when it comes to the issues of elections and ballot measures, and hopefully receive the chance(if they haven't had it already) of doing community work though a Humanities class. They would be more skilled, and as a person, they would be able to bring more to the GNP than someone less educated(and, in reverse, they as a person would have a higher standard of living than someone less educated; this leads to stability). They would also help ease the population crunch, as statistics say that for the most part, the more educated you are, the fewer children you have. Lastly, they would become more "Americanized;" they would be exposed to the College life, away from their hereditary roots in many cases, and acquire more of what are considered "traditional" ideals than someone not given complete exposure to the college life.

So, for these reasons, how can you say no to not giving someone access to more education?

The above does not represent the poster's opinion in any way, shape, or form. It is simply playing Devil's Advocate

I don't agree with this either, but illegal immigration is not the 'liberal's problem'. The fact is, many conservatives (including some far-right Bible thumpers) endorse illegal immigration b/c farmers want the cheap labor to do things no one else wants to. What do you care if the job market for tomato pickers is being filled up, esp. since no one will work that job for way under minimum wage? This is not some ridiculous conspiracy to take over America. If you want to end illegal immigration, prevent businesses from hiring illegal immigrants.

Perhaps because there are legal american citizens who's parents are supporting the country by paying taxes that need to go to college. The student ratio (sophmore:freshmen) rises every year, so sooner or later, some of us might not be going to college

Ok, mr Devil Advocate. I'll give you a couple of reasons why we shouldn't give away my tax dollars:

1. Illegal immigrants send billions of dollars each year across the border to improve the quality of life for their families that have remained behind. This does not improve our GNP or economy, it improves Mexico's.

2. We need to educate our own Legal Citizens first.

i be paying UCSDeezy all my money, more every year and the provost drives a mercedes, atleast i know where the money went. well time to put another $400 down on college text books

I've said it before, and I will say it again, Mexicans will be the downfall of this country in the long run. At their current birthrate in the U.S., which is higher than any other race by far, and the constant flow of illegals, within the next 30-50 years they will bankrupt this nation. The sad part is, no one seems to care or is to"politically correct" to do or say much of anything. I live in San Diego and there are constant new stories of pregnant mexican women on the mexican side waiting till their water breaks and then running over the border to give birth on the U.S. side so she can suck off U.S. welfare for her and her child. A few weeks ago, several americans were killed when a group of illegals snuck across the border and were loaded onto a truck that drove the wrong way down the freeway in the dead of night to avoid border patrol check points. While there are many hardworking Mexicans in our country, there are equally as many that are sucking billions of dollars of mine and your tax dollars. For those of you who argue that it is immigration that built this country, I tell you to look where most of the immigrants came from in the early 1900's during the boom years for immigration. They were largely people from Europe who are capable of civilization on par with that of the U.S. Eastern Europe, Germany, Italy etc. were the starting point for many of the immigrants that came and contributed to our nations growth. Take a look at where todays immigrants are coming from. Cuba, Mexico, South America, Nigeria etc. These places are for the most part $hit holes. That reflects on its people, and now that is what is coming to America. Just wait till they get organized enough to vote, as they are starting to already. They will put people in congress that will favor them more and more. Just look at Miami. Get ready to spend more and more of your tax money supporting them.

Am I missing something?

The vast sense of entitlement taught in public schools obviously.

But I go to public school! Ah just get green cards.

perhaps it hasn't been covered yet.

It goes like this YOU ARE IMORTANT AND IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT. You more than likely can't do anything on your own with out OUR HELP. It is impossible to suceed without someone GIVING YOU what you will need.

Screw that! Alaska is just fine without "your" illegal immigrants. :frown:

... also, Mexicans, as with many of todays immigrants are not assimilating as Americans the way immigrants of the past tended to do. One could argue that many of the hispanics in america today pledge their allegence to Mexico. They are slow or unwilling to adopt english as their prominent language, and remain heavily tied to (politically and physically) Mexico. Mex. president Fox even campaigned in the U.S. Southwest for votes in his Mexican election.

Did'nt they say the same thing about Italian and Irish immigrants back when the country was perdominatly English. And the same arguements about Ireland and Italy being $hitholes. I don't care where they come from and ALL of the legal or illegal hispanics I know are great people my church is about 50% hispanic (when i used to go ) and all are married responsible hardworking parents who give back to thier communities. And I don't care if here legal or not I still like thier food, BBQ's and hardwork. And I know if I lived in Mexico and was poor like 99% are I would be the first one jumping over the border looking for a better life for me and mine.. And so would you.

I think it's the 2nd and third generation that are getting into gang banging etc just like many other immigrants the first generation works their asses of and the second takes advantage. I know Im lazy as hell compared to my parents who are immigrants.

The premise is all wrong IMO. The borders should be wide open to any one who can get here that's what made this country it's freedom and freedom of movement, and you can always move to Agora Hills, Dana Point or some similar all white place if you don't like being around hispanics.

There is a difference between a reasonable amount of Italians and Irish people immigrating to the US and millions of mexicans jumping the fence to come into US. I have been to Miami and I am suprised they still use English there. The rate at which Mexicans are immigrating and reproducing, soon you can call the whole of USA the state of "New Mexico"

You are dead wrong. Borders are meant to be protected. It will be a sad day in hell if our borders are opened wide for anyone. The purpose of my thread is not to pick on legal hispanic immigrants, nor to complain that there aren't enough 'whitey' places around anymore. There are a lot of hispanics that come into this country legally, and that is perfectly fine.

You honestly think opening our borders with no control is a good idea? Sure, let's first invite Al Queda, taliban, and Madass Hussein as our first guests.

Wow, you are a nut. As if we dont have enough problems with drug smuggling, terrorism, health care, public education, welfare...

Lets just let everyone come in. Im afraid you fail to realize, if we did this, the very thing these immigrants are coming here for would fail to exist.

I voted 'No' not because I hate the 'foreigners' like most of you seem to, but because there isn't enough money to educate all the citizens and legal immigrants in the first place. And inspite of being a legal immigrant I swear to God I hope I never have to depend on your govt. handouts - you can have all the alms you want from your govt. :disgust:

I don't think most of us 'hate' foreigners...I think it's more of a hate for how illegals aliens take advantage of the american system.

Good for you. I wish more lazy americans had this attitude on taking care of themselves.

well human rights activists were complaining that illegal immigrants travelling across some southern desert were dying from heat exhaustion...guess what? now we installed a nice little tent with water and blankets just for them 🙁
