Illegal Immigrants Demand Federal Money for Education!

Being the conservative person i am, i was listening to Lars Larson (a local conservative talk radio-show host) on the way home from work.

Today's topic was regarding federal funding for illegal hispanic immigrants and their children to go to college (I'm talking about children they bring that were born in Mexico, not the US).

There was a recent rally on the footsteps of the Oregon State capitol steps recently, in which hundreds of illegal hispanic immigrants were chanting and demanding that our legislators pass bills allowing illegal immigrants access to funds to pay for college tuition.

I personally am disqusted that we have illegal immigrants in this country who feel they are 'owed' something from America. You have to earn the right and follow procedure to take advantage of the benefits provided to US Citizens. I have absolutely no problem with immigrants who come to our country legally, and obtain proper US citizenship.

When was the last time i went to Mexico and demanded an education or something free from their government ? They'd laugh me out of the country.

What does the anandtech community feel about this? California, feel free to chime in - you're experienced in this.

So let me get this straight. People who don't pay taxes, want us to use our taxes to pay for their college education?
Am I missing something?
 
Here in Iowa, in state tuition for RESIDENTS has gone up 50% in three years time, with the latest rate hike coming in at 17%. I'm guessing that we aren't alone in that.

If somebody not even paying taxes to support the school system is pissing and moaning about not getting money and not being able to afford schooling, they can respectfully pack their bags ride the hell back where they came from.
 
I have a better Idea. Let's fly them all first class (don't want to be accused of being mean spirited) back to Mexico and have our National Gaurd Patrol the border with live ammo.
 
They should have wait for them to hold another rally and then round each one of them up and deport them. 🙂

You know, at the rally the confessed to being here illegally. I'm wanting to know why INS wasnt there waiting to take care of a large problem ???

Illegal immigrants aren't always a problem, many of them are very productive. As for the rallying, I think that's kinda lame.

whether you know it or not, many business require illegal immagrant workers to run, they do the jobs that most American's don't want. My friend's dad owns a candle company and he was telling me how a good chunk of his work force is comprised of illegal immagrants. The INS knows and basicly told him to keep employing them
 
Alright, which gutless bastard voted yes? Let me get this straight, I am paying taxes. On top of that, my siblings and I are pitching in to pay for our younger brother's tuition out of our own pocket. What right do these illegal immigrants demand money from the government who they don't pay taxes to?

They can suck it down. I've got enough respect to not illegally immigrate to another country, why can't they have a bit of respect for us? All illegal immigrants should be sent to Alaska to shovel snow for highways.

Because of the stupid liberal restrictions imposed on the INS. The INS unable to even ask someone on the street what their immigration status is without being harassed and taken to court by the ACLU, LULAC, La Raza, and a hundred other organizations. It's pathetic. This country is being invaded, and mainstream America does not even realise it. Ever hear of "La Reconquista"? It is the plan for the retaking of the southwest by Mexico without even firing a shot, just by immigration and reproduction. And the scary thing is. It's working. Laugh it off now if you will, maybe when your anglo grandchildren are attending spanish only schools some of you will realise.

Edit: Before anybody flames me as racist or ignorant. Let me state that I am pro-immigration. But we need more educated, law abiding immigrants who respect this country as it is. And who do not expect America to change for them.

And I should care why? I hope my kids do learn spanish unlike me who was never exposed as a youngster. Now what the hell is cabessa?
 
I don't mind as long as the Gov. gives it to them in cash and makes it legal to beat and steal from illegal immagrants. Then I will have college paid for in a short whie, and a pretty dented up baseball bat.
 
Sounds insanely messed up to me, I hate to say it but these imagrants are becoming moochers. Filling up the job market, filling up the public school's with 5+ children per family. The ghetto part of the bay area (Canal) has about 8 to 10 people to a 2 bedroom apartment(read this in the local newspaper), gang fight's and tons of drunk driving accidents. The west coast is becoming Mexico I swear, there's a frikin Taco shop on like every city block. In the school I went to, whites were the minority taking up just over 19% of the school attendance, 5% were black and other(other being every other race known to man), and 76% were Latino/Hispanic. Why dont other countries just follow in American footsteps as far as Government goes? I think America has shown that it's willing to help in such area's, has it not?
 
What right do they have being illegal to have the same access to and possibly better chance of getting money for college than I do?
