Illegal immigrants go free; some offered work permits

The arrest of 28 illegal immigrants at a small engine plant in Bellingham has ignited a national political firestorm over work-site raids carried out under the Obama administration.

The Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid at Yamato Engine Specialists on Feb. 24 was the first of this presidential administration. Under massive pressure from immigrant advocates, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano the next day ordered a probe into the actions of the Seattle-based ICE team that conducted the raid.

Before they were released last week, the workers were asked to sign forms acknowledging that deportation action against them was being deferred and they were being offered work permits. Agents delivered the same forms to the homes of those workers who were released earlier.

Based on questions agents have been asking workers, Guillen said, "it appears they are trying to justify this raid, trying to find some criminal action against the employer. They're playing this game of divide and conquer, and that's not the Obama way."

Something has to be done about Janet Napolitano she is to weak, to pro-illegal immigrant, and to easily swayed by their supporters to hold the position that is in charge of US sovereignty.

To do an immigration raid, arrest illegal?s, set them free and not just offer them legal work permits but hand deliver them to their places of residences, in a county that has a 8% jobless rate is insane.

I saw this on Fox News and this Yamato Company is already doing interviews with legal and American citizens so there are more than enough replacements for these jobs that should have had these jobs in the first place.

Can I take a OP seriously that can't tell the difference between "to" and "too".

:p

As far as posters go there is not much worse nor more arrogant than these self appointed grammar and spell check police who have nothing better to do than troll for misspelled words or grammatical errors so they can get themselves off by harassing posters and derailing threads over them.

I don't care about your vote to count. This is America.I want you to see what a total hypocrite you are. You hate unions but you act exactly the same way. You don't want people not in your union, American Citizens and Green Card holders, to be able to work even though they will work for less. You do with your vote what unions do with collective bargaining, use their power to keep others out and your pay high. If you despise unions here is absolutely no reason why you should not despise yourself because you are also a union member with entitlement sentiments and a willingness to use your power to protect your own self interest. Alternately, if you are fine with what you are, you should see that unions are just fine too.

But I bet you are one of the millions of blind assholes in this country that have contempt for unions while acting out and having exactly the same attitude.

You equating my vote to union collectivism is asinine. I bet you are one of those "Citizens of the World" with Obama, right. This allows dishonest companies to exploit cheap labor to avoid the paying for benefits to honest employees. Your dumb ass positions is one that allows this exploitation to flourish!

Not only that, he missed at least one "to" that should be a "too" in your OP, and then he referred to it as "a OP" when it clearly should be "an OP," and used a period when he should have used a question mark! If you're going to be a grammar Nazi, at least do it properly.

I've got news for you, chump. Unions are legal too. And just like any union member voting to protect his job, you are voting to protect yours too. It the unions stink then so do you, you selfish prick.

Your definition of an asinine analogy is one that shows you up to be the ass you are.

Wait, so let me get this straight. You're mad at people who are here illegally, who can't benefit from the majority of our social services, can't compete on the open market for jobs, and are forced to work the jobs that most Americans aren't willing to do because some companies who are criminally unethical and exploitative are willing to hire them? You seem to be confusing the chicken with the egg.

If nobody would hire illegal immigrants, set them up with decrepit housing and pay them under the table/educate them in how to avoid the law while simultaneously holding that power of authority over their heads to exploit them with ridiculous wages and long hours - there wouldn't be the problem we face today. If we cracked down on exploitative businesses they wouldn't have jobs and would be forced back over the borders. The same factories would likely go out of business or be forced to go overseas there regulation is more lax- they're clearly uncompetitive under normal market conditions.

Empathy, you should try it sometimes. We've created a business environment that allows for the exploitation of foreign migrant workers and you want to punish the exploited. If I had to choose between drug-riddled Mexico and under-the-table US factory work I'd choose the one that best supported my family.

I gave him a lesson in empathy but he didn't get it. He enjoyed the hell out of ridiculing unions but didn't like it when I ridiculed him in the same way. It's funny how that works, profoundly sensitive to any insult that comes his way, but totally blind to his own callous ignorance.

They know how to live cheap and they don't whine. Card carrying Unionists are a bunch of spoiled entitlement babies who should go straight to hell.

Get rid of the minimum wage and we'll have millions of people who'll be willing to work for nothing. There is no reason to bring in illegals who cut the line into the country.

Bull, it's the legals that got them rights in the first place. Illegals can't vote and they can't complain. You're full of crap if you think the card carriers will work for nothing. They're spoiled full of the notion they got rights.

Um just get rid of the minimum wage and we'll see how long unions survive. There are plenty of able and willing legal workers who will work for below the minimum wage. We don't need illegal aliens overcrowding this country.

The problem with illegals is who is coming in. I have no problem with legal immigration that allows people from all over the globe to come in in fair proportions. The issue with illegals from Mexico is the are causing our electorate to be manipulated for the good of big business and liberal politicians.

By the way Shortass, what are these "majority of our social services" you refer to? Down here illegals get free medical, there children get free educations, free legal council, and pretty much anything else they want. Most of the money they earn goes back to a very corrupt Mexico and we pick up the tab for all these services. What are they not getting? This is the true cost of illegal immigration to the law abiding citizens in the country legally. We can still provide a good working environment for many immigrants that choose to come into this country legally.

And how would you know that? Face it, you don't. Your big ego took over and you were talking out of your ass. I have to wonder how your mental process works on this. You supposedly have this great empathy for these "hard working Mexicans" but none for the "Hillbillies and Red Necks" that you say can't compete.

Just because the Mexicans are willing to work cheaper to get a job in this country doesn't mean their American counter-part can't compete. It just means they're smart enough to know that having illegal workers in this country is driving down their already low wages.

I'd like one of you elitist pricks to explain to me why it's A-OK with you to let any Mexican into this country that wants to come yet we make the rest of the world stand in line and jump through hoops in order to get into this country.

Man this is ignorant,...

Living in a border state (Arizona), I see this first hand,...

Illegals do benefit from most social services, and on average use them more,... food stamps, state paid healthcare, education,etc,... they also burden the infrastructure, police, fire, teachers, roads, etc without paying their fair share for these services. They increase crime, drive uninsured leaving citizens left holding the bad in accidents, steal identities,..(arizona has ranked #1 per capita in identity theft for the last decade,.. california, new mexico, nevada and texas all right there too), identity theft costs the average victim thousands.

Americans are willing to do these jobs,.. that is a fallacy,... many have lost jobs because of illegals, happens all the time, illegals put downward pressure on wages,...

Most goods and services wouldn't cost any more than now. The few crops that wouldn't be profitable would be switched to something more profitable and we could import the other crops from Mexico,... giving Mexico more demand for jobs there,... novel eh?

Illegals would still come here regardless of going after employers,... for the free education, food stamps, healthcare and what many bring,... a nice drug business,... the usual argument that they are just good hardworking family oriented people is another fallacy,.... Phoenix is now second in the world in kidnappings, most police officers are killed by illegals, Arizona has the highest rate of uninsured motorists, phoenix averages one home invasion per day, etc etc etc

I haven't even covered everything,... but it is sad that when citizens get sick of this, illegals demand right they are not entitled to and the illegal sympathizers start using politics to get rid of the resisitance,... as is seen in things like the democrats attacking the 287g program letting local officers assist ICE,... Napalitano our former gov. having taken away funds for our sheriff who wanted to do something about illegal immigration, etc, etc

I have grown up with this and seen it get worse over decades,.... you and Moonbeam are ignorant idealists,...

You've got that right, brother.

Same goes for stopping the drug cartels: stop buying their fricking drugs, people!

problem with both, is that you will never be able to stop people from buying drugs, or small businesses that are under the radar from trying to make more money by hiring illegals,... heck a lot of times illegals own the business and hire illegals,....

even if you could,... you would still have illegals coming over for other reasons,...
