Illinois also passed a law that legalizes motorcyclists to run red lights.

Is there any wonder why this state is sooooo far in debt?

motorcycles do not always register on induction loop triggers for stop lights. i've literally sat at a light for 5+ minutes waiting for a car to pull up behind me or for the light to simply time out and run through the cycle.

A new state law requires customers purchasing products containing sodium hydroxide, or lye, and other corrosive chemicals to show a legitimate photo ID

Waiting for the Dems/progressives to come in posting about how this discriminates against minorities and poor people denying them their rights to these every day products.

LOL! So true. But they of course support this kind of intrusive legislation. Ends justify the means.

Son of a bitch.

I bet the Target was testing their Point of Sale software for the new law that day the Cashier said I had to sign for the Vinegar.

She was probably wrong that it was for the Vinegar, it was for the Liquid Plumber that my wife and I got that day.

Every ATer should repent and apologize.

So.. on February 9th, 2010.. they were testing a POS system, for a law, that wasn't even a proposed bill?

HB 2193 wasn't even introduced until 2/18/2011, when it was filed with the Clerk by Rep. Susana A. Mendoza... and didn't even pass until 5/31/2011.

Here's the timeline for the bill:

Fern, when you can point to a Constitutional right to drain cleaner you'll have a point. Until then you're just trolling ... and it worked.

Spidey, I hate to disturb your 3% view of the world, but as I remember the article, there was a single Illinois legislator quoted in support of this law ... and he was Republican. Oops.

No bill in Illinois can be passed without the Democrats allowing it to happen.

Nor did I suggest otherwise.

Just making sure you understood that the Dems are the ones who caused this bill to make it to their democrat governor who signed it into law.

Without the dems pushing this through, it would never be a law. So we can positively say the dems support this kind of intrusive legislation, which is what Spidey said.

With five gallons of NaOH and some Hydrocloric acid...

Or with NaCl and some ammonia.

If you really want to, you can just use citric acid and baking soda, put it in in a small bearcan and line the indented side with nails.

Or you could just use baking soda and any nitrogenous compound, or whatever you have, if you mix them with high carbon compounds like four or sugar you'lll get a huge fucking blast.

I prefer ammonia and iodine as a soft trigger and ANFO as the load, usually with 200 lbs of nails or bbs.

It's enough to kill everyone in the entire group if spred and cornered right.

Have you no sense of humor?

I wasn't around for the vinegar story, but I really don't see the problem. I was once carded when buying Hanson's Orange Sodas, which clearly have no alcohol nor are intended to mimic alcohol like, say, Near Beer. We live in a computerized world; someone checks the wrong field and you have to sign for vinegar or show ID to buy a particular orange soda (which by the way I had purchased many times before and after the one isolated incident without being asked for ID.) Shit happens, and if it's really bizarre shit it tends to get mentioned and fixed fairly quickly.

Which doesn't lessen the idiocy of any and all Republicans supporting such a monstrosity of a bill.

Hmmm....so Drano is a "usual storm supply" now? Funny how you didn't mention it in your vinegar thread when asked about what you purchased.

Soap and laundry detergent is also acidic. So Is Soda and Peppers and pickles and fruit!

This law is kind of stupid. Salt is also acidic.

What do you expect from a Democratic Nanny State?

Just mix vinegar and baking soda and salt together. It kills bugs in Drains and everything else on earth. It is a home remedy for Drain Flies. Bug spray and defoggers are toxic also.

LOL, loss of freedom and as usual, just like the last three times i've made that remark, you lol.

Are you free to do anything anymore? Could you buy chlorex without being monitored, how about ammonia and iodine... no... you'd be arrested.

Fortunately, i had some fun with that on your behalf, but then again, i live in a free nation.

Except the bill was introduced by a Republican, Sparky, and apparently passed unanimously in both their House and Senate. But please don't let such facts interrupt your blind partisan hackery.

This was by the powers of Republicans, or can't you even read?

However, i'd need a few bags of 40+ ferilizer and i want to mis it with diesel and let it dry out and then i want some home made cotton powder and a trigger made out of iodine and ammonia...

I can have that, that is a mine bomb that would blow up most of a neighbourhood.

You don't have a fucking clue, i'd dealt with this sheit since i was young in northern England and you think you know...

You poor bastards, you'll all get dead if you handle it like this.,

They weren't targeting explosives. They're after acid attacks and similar chemical assaults. (I wonder if pepper spray qualifies?) Of course I suspect such attacks are already illegal in Illinois, but what fun is being a legislator if you can't overreact to some rare tragedy with ill-considered, over-reaching laws ... that won't actually change a damn thing?
