I submitted my battery s/n on their website and within the next day, i have my replacement battery on my door.

Should i keep my old battery or should I ship it back? (nothing has happened with me so far and overheating of my laptop battery or around such area when I used my laptop - even when unplugged)

20 days is bordering on incredulous but 75 business days? Thats what, 3 months? I'd drop $70 rather than wait for 3 months.

but I'm a cheap ass, if I can save $70 by waiting 3 months ... I'm all for it.

yeah. this was posted in a thread before.. surprisingly, i have the laptop listed on their list but I dont have to turn mine in because it doesn't match the battary numbers listed. should i be afraid? or shall i just wait and sue dell. 😉

So are you guys recieving mailers with the replacement batteries to ship the affected battery back?

I am waiting on mine (says it has shipped) and am wondering (for a PR project about this situation) whether they are making any attempt to get the batteries out of end-users hands.

Yes, this is the way it works. But the recall is VOLUNTARY, you have to fill out the forms.

I'm at work right now, and have an ever-growing pile of these return shipping boxes behind my desk. I noticed that they're actually marked ORM-D - which is the mail code for incendiary and explosive devices, such as ammunition. Asked one of the bosses in jest "Should I be concerned about all these batteries? They aren't going to explode and kill me, are they?" "They might. I'd stay away"
