Which car would you buy?

On pump gas the Alpha 9 produces 850 hp. You don't even need to put race fuel in it.

The point of the poll is, would you rather have crazy power (Alpha 9) or just a nice fast car with the looks to match. I saw the Jag XKR-S at an auto show and immediately fell in love with it. The thing is gorgeous.

Neither, a car that is fun to drive is good.
I am sure the Viper is a blast to drive, and it looks great doing it (a bonus)
 
Tough poll for me -

Viper with the XKR-S & GTR roudning out my top 3 out because they are automatics and the wifey could drive em too.

M6 is dead last and a 991 S should have been included in this poll over a M6.

You're right, I actually should have included the 911 Turbo but I already set up the poll. I included the M6 for the luxury/sport choice.
 
911 Turbo is more than $150k so it's out as well.

From that list the Viper by a wide margin, followed by the GT-R (need a fast year-round car).

I have no use for a dedicated track car, so ZR1's out.

I don't want an ugly fat pig that makes people think my junk is small, so M6 is out. That and it's outclassed by everything else mentioned. The M6, that is; not my junk...okay, both.

Among the rest; Jag for a daily driver. Viper for driving with my testicles firmly pressed against a verticle interior surface. GT-R for the fastest lap times without killing myself.
 
i'd probably get the m6.

i mean the other cars honestly all probably outpeform it, but the vette / gts just aren't nearly as luxury and the GTR is ugly / a ricer rocket. i'd probably consider the jag too.

if i could choose outside the poll though i'd probably get a v8 vantage or an r8 though.
 
For me it's the Jag. Maybe I'm getting old but I don't need an all out sports car. A good looking car with balls works for me.
 
Lotus Exige GT3 would be my vote. I love driving small cars that can zip around local streets like a go-cart.

i'm 31, and i've gotten to this point already at least for the car i drive. I guess it would be different if you had 2 cars. like i'd get the viper or the zr-1 if I had another car and i was making the hypothetical choice in the poll.

Shouldn't the Jag be pretty similar to the M6 in performance numbers? All the others are faster for sure; my thought was the Jag merely beats the M6 in cruising for poon. 😀

I think the Viper comes with just the six-speed stick.
 
Well, a Vantage V12 is 180k, and so is the DB9.

But a V8 Vantage would probably be my choice. From the options given, I'd pick the Jag for it's GTishness. Yes, it's not as GT-ish in the XKR-S guise, but I'd not be looking for a race car, but rather a nice endurance cruiser.
 
No M5 on the list. 4 doors! Quiet comfortable safe daily driver 🙂 Still faster than most of the stuff driving around even so.

Strange list, modded non-factory cars don't belong on it. GT-R is still hella fast without mods, I wouldn't touch a modded one with a 1000 foot pole unless for a single run and I didn't own any part of it. Heavily modded cars are the worst option unless you really enjoy working on them, have the money/time put aside, and have other nice things to drive while you spend thousands of dollars and dozens of hours fixing things.

Motor blows in the A9? Oh well, lets go ahead and spend $40k and 75 hours getting a new motor, getting all the mods moved over, getting it tuned, adjusted again, tuned again, etc.

I guess that's where the Vette shines the most from this list. Motor blows? Oh well, drop a crate LS in there and bolt a fecking big blower on it, done.

I came here to post this. I'd take a DB9 or Vantage as well. If I'm looking at 150k then I'd rather go up to the Aston Martin range.

That said, out of those options Jag for DD and Viper for fun
 
Limiting myself to just the polled vehicles, I'd take one with a manual. Guess that limits choices to the 'Vette or the Viper. Between the two, I'd take the Viper, because you don't see them (or ones that look similar enough) everywhere.
