haha, so you make a clear cut? 1st cousin definitely no, 2nd cousin definitely okay?

Sorry if you think fucking almost full blooded relatives is ok. Genetically 2nd cousin and on is not a risk.

But what happens if they are related to each other? Consider the following: A parent transmits to their offspring one of the two copies they have of each gene. If one of the parents is a carrier, then the chances are 1/2 that their children will also be carriers. Given that cystic fibrosis is a relatively common genetic disease, it works out that the chances that two siblings will both be carriers of cystic fibrosis is 1/50, as compared to 1/625 for two unrelated persons. For first cousins, the risk is 1/200 and for second cousins, the risk is the same as if they were unrelated. PKU is a rarer genetic disease that if untreated, will cause severe mental retardation. The occurrence is 1/12000 live births. The chances that two unrelated people are carriers is 1/2500. For two siblings, the risk 1/100, for first cousins, it is 1/400 and for second cousins, it is 1/1600. Thus, the real risk is with brother-sister marriages, and to a lesser extent, first cousin marriages. Any relations beyond these are essentially at the same risk as the general population.

you dont seem to understand the question.

it is assuming that NO CHILDREN WILL RESULT FROM SAID UNION!

thus, the issue with genetics is taken out. the only thing left is the issue of incest as a moral and social taboo.

Go ahead and do your sister and mom too then and you can just call it a moral or social issue. Its fucked and so are alot of people in here that thought they could share a sick truth because they thought it would be accepted.

Second cousins are fifth degree relatives and are predicted to share 3.1% (1/32) of their genes. In contrast, first cousins are predicted to share 12.5 % (1/8) of their genes. The closer the biological relationship is between parents, the greater proportion of genes shared, and the greater the chance to have a child with birth defects.

The background risk that every couple faces of having children with birth defects is about 2-3%. Genetic counseling will help define this for you personally based on your family history and ethnic background.

I think that makes them genetically similar to your brother/sister since you share all four grandparents.

That just sounds like two separate families had more than one connection. We are talking about you going after your blood relatives, so I dont see whats up with the "oh nooeezz" unless youre confused. It looks like if you did go after a cousin withing that space you would be at even higher risk though.

So basically you just called someone between a brother(sister?) and a cousin, genetically, 'super hot'.

I'm gonna pretend its a girl.

because pregnancy can lead to a really fucked up kid.

There are enough women out there not to risk that.

because most people are weak-minded sheep. They will buy into something due to everyone else doing so, meanwhile they know nothing about the details.

That most people think that something is wrong without really knowing why.

First cousin relationships were very popular centuries ago. You figure two kids more or less grew up seeing alot of each other, having the same value/religion/etc structure, heard always good things about each other.

It sort of just fit in. However; once these relationships went to having kids it was evident that the common terrible recessive genes usually shared by cousins were too much a risk

This is the main reason that lead to FIRST cousin relationships being illegal, usually at the second level or beyond those recessive genes that can cause issues aren't so probable.

I already outline the probabilities. 2nd and on has teh same chance of birth defects as non blood related. 1st is just fucking sick.

I have cousins, 2 sisters, absolutely smoking. Hottest girls I've ever seen.
I doubt I'd be able to resist if given the chance, no matter what my brain tells me.
