My parents did something like that. My mom didnt date for years and never remarried. My father lived alone till the day he died. A few years back I found out they never divorced. My mom still says she loves my dad, they just couldnt live together...

Not painful anymore because I grew up and it was too late for her to really take me out. I do still wonder though if she really meant it.

Of course, she's now in a nursing home after being afflicted with strokes all of her life.

My parents did something like that. My mom didnt date for years and never remarried. My father lived alone till the day he died. A few years back I found out they never divorced. My mom still says she loves my dad, they just couldnt live together...

I know my dad and mom still love each other. They also cannot bear the differences that they have. My dad is 66 and my mom is 55 this year. They are both still alive and healthy. I can feel their loneliness when I speak to them though. I try and visit as much as possible, but I have my own life, and I may want to get married and maybe start a family with my current g/f soon.

Am I actually in a position to help? Should I be, they traumatized each other for almost two decades?
