If you build a house right on Geographical north will all four sides of the house face south?

That magnetic field moves annually, so don't go buying any property.

Nay I say because there would still be an east and west. Right?

Each wall would face south, east, and west. Each wall faces south directly at the center of the wall. As you move away from the center of each wall, you gradually start facing east or west.

Actually I've always wondered, if you go very close to the north pole say, 100 feet from it, and look west or east, do you see everything repeating itself? That would be kinda crazy to see.

No.
Only one side will be pointing south.
BECAUSE - youre on the Magnetic North Pole and not the Geographical north pole. Magnetic North pole is actually miles south of the Geographical North Pole(the axis point of earths rotation).

If you build your house on the True North Pole, then YES, all sides will be pointing south.

Fun fact: You can use any compass to find the magnetic north pole. But it won't help you get home nearly as much.

This question is more fun if you build on the geographical north pole.

i imagine that only if each wall was truly 2 dimensional would they all face South.

otherwise, if they are built many feet outward from the exact center of the north pole so they will no longer all be facing true due South

Agreed, but unfortunately we are building on Magnetic North pole... lame.

You'll have to build a tent then. Magnetic declination constantly changes. You'd always have to move your house.

Edit:
Beaten by the third post. My memory's good, just a bit short :^D

A month later and I still think about this post. WTF does it mean?
