If US was invaded, who would you group with?

Ok, I was watching Red Dawn again on Sunday and it got me thinking.

If the US were invaded, would you fight guerilla-style against the invaders? Who would you take with you?

Rules:
1. This is not the place for political/social commentary or debate. This is purely hypothetical and is a game of sorts
2. Tell us why you would/would not choose each person
3. Names aren't necessary
4. China is invading the US. It doesn't matter how or why
5. If you are not in the US, pick whoever to invade your country
6. Feel free to tell which weapons you would use
7. If you are confident that you could complete raids you can, but you aren't going to walk into a building and clear out 50 guy by yourself. Be reasonable



I would take my oldest brother, but he is in the Army and would probably be fighting elsewhere. I may take my dad, but he isn't in top shape to be fighting and running all the time. One of my friends is a pacifist, so he's out, and none of the others strike me as the military type. I may take my other brother, but he may be over-confident. I would protect him at all cost, though. I have an uncle who hunts and is an outdoorsman, so he would be a good asset.
I would make due with standard rifles and pistols for a while until I could capture others. I know just a little about explosives, chemicals, etc. (enough to cause some damage). This is where my dad would come in handy.

China couldn't get an invasion force here without covering some huge amount of land or sea first.

Lets say they use the sea approach.

The ships are blasted by submarines before they enter american waters.

Lets say they use the land approach...bringing millions of soldiers up north across the Arctic Circle.

First they would have to go through Russia then Canada. Those that don't die in the extreme cold will die in the extreme heat.

This thread is kind of odd because you don't know any of the people we are going to mention..... just as I dont know your brother/dad/uncle.

That said, I would take my brother, and some of my roommates.

If things turned into a mass chaos type situation, I would group, with my group of friends, all would be willing to join the fray, and probably my father since he has past combat experience from Vietnam.

I often play out those types of situations in my mind (hey, work is boring ok...)

Family (Wife n kids) stay in hiding. They just blend in.

I'd take my 2 best friends. Their really the only ones I'd trust with my life, although one of them is so damned stupid I dont know if I'd fully trust him, hence the 3 man team. The dumb guy does have prior military though.
For weapons we'd probably use our AR-15's and AK-47's. I might recruit one or two of my other friends to man the precision rifles to give us a bit o assistance from a distance though.

As for what we could or could not do, it depends on who we're fighting. For example if we were fighting a highly trained unit representative of the American units fighting in Iraq, we'd be dead. Anyone who fought them would be dead. You cant fight a force on force battle with a well trained military unit and win. YOU WILL DIE.
In that case, you need to hook up with others of a like mind and come up with a solid gameplan. So first priority is to assess the enemy units in the area and make contact with any other resistance fighters. Minimize confrontation AT ALL COSTS. Repeat: Force on force with well trained military units GETS YOU DEAD.

Once we've made contact with The Resistance, then we go from there and work to establish contact with surrounding cells and work to establish a loose military structure of our own to assess and prioritize all targets within the area.

If they are not a highly trained military unit, a force on force encounter will ned very, VERY badly for them. In that case we will actively seek out and engage all enemy units in our area of operations. Extreminate with extreme prejudice.

I'm going to go solo, and with only a knife, i'ma find and kill a guy with a pistol. With that pistol, I'ma kill a guy with an AK. With that AK, I'll take down about 10-20 armored veichles. I'll then use the cars as scuicide explosives via remote control, blow up their main base, kill arouind 1 million soldiers, and watch them run back.

Sorry, but solo, you wouldn't have a chance. Doom sh!t doesn't work well in real life.

I prefer the question of "what if zombies happened, what would you do" to this one. Zombies, we wouldn't have any remorse for.
