You know, you have one job. Your job is to collect the garbage. You don't have to innovote, you don't have to modernize and you don't even have to be creative.

It's really simple. You drive a truck, and grab stuff. How hard is that?

If UPS and USPS, and the 20 year old PIZZA DELIVERY GUY can make it to my house over the past 3 weeks, why can you get your $100,000 garbage truck here with some Fing Chains on? I'll tell you why.

Unions, FAT LAZY PEOPLE, and an a overall attitude of we're too good to work on XMAS and New Years, unlike the other hard working people around here.

I'm sorry if you are a garbage man, but I have lost all respect for the ones around here.

3 fing weeks with no garbage pickup, you can suck it WASTE MANAGEMENT. SUCK IT LONG, SUCK IT HARD.

My union WM driver showed up on schedule. Maybe where you live WM successfully broke the union and replaced drivers with scabs?

Where I live, if garbage day is a holiday, they just pick it up the next day. That essentially means they work Saturday to catch up.

Maybe you're not putting the garbage close enough to the curb. Yeah, it's stupid, they should be able to walk a few extra feet, but that's that. I usually just put it right in the snow bank, that way it's even above waist level and easier to pickup. No excuse there.

Yes, we've had alot. But it's not too much for the post office or UPS to come out....so I see no reason that the Garbage guys can't get out here.

I don't care if there is a holiday or not, it's been 3 weeks!!!! It's piling up everywhere and its nasty, oh and its XMAS so there is a ton extra garbage everywehre

Yes, but they work everyday, xmas, snow, tornado's.....they rule.

Garbage Guys are just that, GARBAGE.

So then don't blame it on the unions. Blame it on crappy work ethic.

I hate to break it to you, but even if your garbagae collectors are union, the management would set the collection policies, and management is not union.

I don't need any more stress and deal with all the political bs. How would you like to know your tax dollar is paying some lazy s.o.b. $45-50/hr for doing nothing, call out 15 days a year (maximum before write-up), take all vacation, admin/personal days, etc..

Well, 3 weeks is a bit much, maybe they don't want those massive trucks sliding around residential neighborhoods during icy conditions. As for X-mas, wtf, just store the trash ONE extra day, so what..

Wow, where to start.... People don't want to work on Christmas and New Years? Last I knew, very few people do, particularly on Christmas. Other than hospitals, you'll find very few places open on Christmas.

And yeah, I'm going to repeat others, oh well. UPS is probably a part of the same union as WM workers. USPS is union. Who decides not to send the trucks out? Management.

If you're hourly, why wouldn't you take all the time you're allowed to get paid for?

I work at UPS in the warehouse and its unionized. Shit, I love it. Paid medical, vision, dental, holidays, 3 weeks vacation, 401k, guaranteed raises & more. All for a part time warehouse job, 20 hours a week. I'd hardly classify myself as fat and lazy though. I get up early and work pretty hard. I'm trim and in way better shape than any of the flabby soft office people I know.

Word. I just finished out a season as a driver helper and am looking good to get a spot inside the warehouse (assuming layoffs don't come) in January. UPS is awesome.

No kidding, maybe he meant Fed-EX and DHL. I have no idea about garbage guys, if they work for the local .gov there is a good chance they might be union.

And it doesn't take a union for people on a job to be lazy and overpaid.

Around here (SW Ohio) I have seen USPS mail being delivered on 12/25. Damned union commies!

They know the OP is a union hating bastard and they've decided, "Fuck him, let him haul his own garbage!"
