Since Texas already has a standing army, I have to give the fight to them. If it was just the general population CA might win with just numbers.

This is an idiotic comparison. You cherry picked pictures to compare. There are certainly nicer places in Texas than what is shown above. I agree California has nicer landscape even in a fair comparison, but still.
Yeah California is nicer in general for sure but hey, if we want to cherry pick!

Overpopulation, pollution, higher taxes, more crime, gangbangers on every corner, homelessness, etc... Doesn't sound ideal to me.

Sure the scenery is nice. It'd be a great vacation destination but to live there? No.

Ah, the ignorance. California has some bad things, but there's plenty of space if you want, we're national leaders reducing pollution, gangbangers are far from 'every corner', etc.

On the other hand, it's the greatest state. Best places, best industries, most diverse geography, cultural leader, leader in farming, technology, restaurants, on and on.

California is the best of the country.

Right, picking a beautiful coast shot for California and dirt for Texas is 'cherry picking'.

Because those are not representative.

There is nothing less representative of a land of mass (small islands aside) than a coast. That said, you guys have nice forests, lakes, and other things too.

While I agree with some of this it does have large swathes of polluted shitholes.

Seriously, how is this even a question? California is full of a bunch of pacifist pussies. And considering Texas citizens overall are much better armed and better equipped, it's an easy victory for Texas. Seriously, how is this even close?

Because that is how jaded and arrogant Californian's are. Even when 99% of Texas have guns (and probably bazooka's) versus a much, much lower percentage of Californian's with guns - they still feel that their intelligence will somehow prevail.

They'll try to hack into Texans computers or something

Overall, this is a silly discussion, but I still LOl at the people that think Texas has no tech industry. I suppose that's why people are abandoning CA in droves to come to Austin.

is Texas comfortable with the inevitable influx of ebil libruls set to dramatically alter the political climate of the state and, in all likelihood, determine the outcome of national elections in perpetuity? You know...without Texas, it truly becomes a one-party nation with the EC.
I think if Hillary runs Texas would actually be a toss up. Anyone else though and it won't be close for probably 3-4 more cycles. I still won't count on Democrats using Texas to lock into a long term Democratic streak. I think it's more likely that the Republican party turns back to the middle a bit for stuff like immigration. It is conceivable that the libertarians could split off on their own and thus more easily ignored within the Republican party itself. The libertarians would typically vote with the Republicans but the Republican party wouldn't actually have to acknowledge the crazies as much as they do right now. Of course, if the Republican party turns into the libertarian party, then yeah, it's going to be Democrats in control for a while.

How about this, instead of war, can Texas take our Central Valley rednecks and we'll take their Austin hipsters? The Central Valley is basically West Tejas anyway (except for the water they get from NorCal).

So that means you have no answer.
