I counted a whopping 5 repeats of the same question and the customary Deaniac attack. Can't those of you who disagree with me just stay on topic and answer the question? I guess not.

Hey...I've said before. I don't toe any party's line. Democrats, Republicans, etc. are never right 100% of the time.

If more people would realize that, there'd be less polarization in this land.

Whatever happened to Alex Baldwin? Wasn't he supposed to leave the country when Bush got elected? Did he try but ran into the door on the way out, hit his head, fell down and develop amnesia?

Your question is invalid, MonstaThrilla. Lose the rhetoric in the topic's title and you might get some reasonable answers.

I've actually been doing that same thing. Solid health care, friendly people, and those canucks know how to make some beer. I always drink candian beer. Can we add that as an option?

I don't think Bush stole the 2000 election. The electoral system is fvcked IMO, but he won fair and square...even if it was marginally.

President Bush did not "steal the election". To keep thinking crap like that is to invite another defeat. Learn how the system works and work with it. Don't whine when it goes against you.

Oh...and kill Ralph Nader.

Of course its valid. Alot of people agree with me on that. As of now, half of the respondents do since they answered in the affirmative. I'm sorry that you don't agree with it.

Actually I'm not. This is a free country and while you have the right to pollute my thread with a debate that's been done to death over the past 3 years, I simply don't think its a respectful thing to do.

What other kind of revolution would get an unfairly elected regime out of the White House?

No, the Supreme Court simply put an end to the democrats MASSIVE recounts. The people in the electoral college are under no obligation to vote for what the majority decide in a state. A state could vote 90% for Gore, then that state could cast it's vote for Bush. If you don't like it, write a letter, or do something other than p*ss and moan for the millionth time on this topic.

Vote the democrats into 2/3 majority and have an impeachment is one option

I think a violent revolution would be more realistic. ;) Plus, how to impeach the whole regime is another question.

Oh well, off to yoga class!

Well, first off, we'd have to have "an unfairly elected regime" in the White House. We don't have that.

Edit: there's no need for a disclaimer in your post, the 1st and 2nd amendments are in the Constitution for *precisely* this reason (so the people can overthrow a tyrannical government). You have every right to discuss the overthrow of the government, hypothetical or not.

Oh really? Then why did the Government track Kerry when he was an Anti-War Leader back around 1970?

Why does the Government have Agents assigned to track and Monitor every dissenting Group?

Because the Government is full of hipocrasy..... Not only that but those in power wish to keep their power.
Besides, they've been tearing apart the Constitution for decades now.

Well since the Left is traditionally anti-gun, good luck with your 'violent' revolution. You'll certainly get far storming the White House armed with tofu and "Celebrate Diversity!" bumperstickers.

I was going to say the same thing... your topic says "another" election. Can you point to the first election he stole?

Technically you guys are right. The Supreme Court and Florida (along with his brother) "stole" it for him.

Nope.

The SCOTUS voted 7-2 to stop the recounts. Rather obvious that Gore was trying to do an end-run around the Constitution.

twice in a row conjur has it.

Somewhat.

Personally I would like to see a change in the electoral system. Direct popular elections. I don't agree with the representative system. I think there are more opportunities for people to be informed (or missinformed) today than 200 some years ago, and a direct popular election is possible.

Nothing is perfect, and thinking that one system is perfect, no longer being flexible and accepting of change is just plain bad news...

Problem with going to a pure Popular system is that I don't want Californians and New Yorkers to be responsible for electing a president. I'm from Oklahoma and my views are 180 degrees different from most CA citizens and almost the same with NY.

I used to think like you until my mom pointed that out.

so we get rid of the Senate as well, right, just leave the house?

we live, from the bottom up, in a Representative democracy that has states-rights; just because you don't think states mean anything doesn't mean an election was stolen, or unfairly put into place; everyone in the running had to play by the same rules.

That would be an enormous mistake.
