Hey...I've said before. I don't toe any party's line. Democrats, Republicans, etc. are never right 100% of the time.

I don't think Bush stole the 2000 election. The electoral system is fvcked IMO, but he won fair and square...even if it was marginally.

No, the Supreme Court simply put an end to the democrats MASSIVE recounts. The people in the electoral college are under no obligation to vote for what the majority decide in a state. A state could vote 90% for Gore, then that state could cast it's vote for Bush. If you don't like it, write a letter, or do something other than p*ss and moan for the millionth time on this topic.
I think a violent revolution would be more realistic.

Personally I would like to see a change in the electoral system. Direct popular elections. I don't agree with the representative system. I think there are more opportunities for people to be informed (or missinformed) today than 200 some years ago, and a direct popular election is possible.
Nothing is perfect, and thinking that one system is perfect, no longer being flexible and accepting of change is just plain bad news...
Problem with going to a pure Popular system is that I don't want Californians and New Yorkers to be responsible for electing a president. I'm from Oklahoma and my views are 180 degrees different from most CA citizens and almost the same with NY.

we live, from the bottom up, in a Representative democracy that has states-rights; just because you don't think states mean anything doesn't mean an election was stolen, or unfairly put into place; everyone in the running had to play by the same rules.
