That's fine for now, but what will you do once you leave elementary school?

One time me and a buddy of mine were at a Penn State football game standing in line to get some food and drinks. Two clueless college kids cut in front of us; I was only halfway paying attention as I was trying to see what was going on with the game. I looked at my buddy and he said to the college kids, "Hey guys, what are you doing?"
The said, "Standing in line."
Buddy said, "No you're not." Confused looks from the college kids followed.
"The line is back there" pointed to the actual end of the line that looped around the area.

You better be thinking up a real good bullshit story making us wait this long.

You wait in line at Nordstrom? You obviously aren't buying enough stuff for them to cater to your every whim.

Exactly. This sort of thing happens all the time. If the person did it unintentionally, you can usually tell. I'm not often in a big hurry, so the minute or two longer I have to wait doesn't bother me. I don't need to be all sanctimonius about how a line works - everybody is eventually going to get served, and to make a big fuss is just childish. That said, if I am in a big hurry or if the person cut on purpose, then I'll have a problem with it and will tell the person. You don't need to be a douche about it, just plainly tell them what happened and let them decide how the rest of the conversation is going to go.

Parking lots are a different matter - maybe they shouldn't be. I get stressed while driving, especially while looking for parking, and close attention to etiquette is mandatory. I'll succumb to ranting and raving and hand gestures as deemed necessary. Which is often. I should really work on that.

Someone over there needs to acknowledge the "Maybe it's the Alcohol talking but........................" posts.

Those are at least serious.

I don't want to see a fricken cartoon, I want to see the subpoenaed video tape.

Um. We've been together for over 5 years. He plays a lot of guitar as a hobby (which strangely enough doesn't require you to be Asian OR white trash). His mother and I were going birthday shopping for him. So way to be a sarcastic ass!

Wow. Typing a wrong letter makes me white trash. I guess I didn't catch that.

I still maintain that it's stupid to make assumptions like that though!
Either way, thanks TallBill. I'll be sure to fix the b so as to not be considered either Asian or white trash.

Get the fuck back in the fucking line. Please.

I've used that line before. Only once has it escalated beyond "Oh, sorry." We were in line at a grocery store and this fellow of "middle-eastern" heritage cut in front of us. I told him the end of the line was "back there," but he argued that since we had a full cart and he only had a couple of items, he should be allowed to go in front of us. I not so politely told him NO...he continued to argue, getting a bit louder, and I finally pushed him out of line and told him to fuck off...the end of the line is back there<---go find it. He continued trying to argue, then a manager got involved and told him he wasn't allowed to cut in the line where ever he wanted.
That ended the dispute.

If you're going to take a spot being argued over, that's definitely the way to do it. It also helps that you don't have a nice new car to gamble with. But sometimes, they can do something undamaging like letting air out of all 4 tires.

BTW, in my opinion, the etiquette is that there's a "line" or section belonging to people in every row if they're stopped there. You're not supposed to do what you did. How would you like it if you're waiting in an area and some car behind you is following a bunch of people to their spot... which happens to be right in front of where you were waiting for 10 minutes?
