I know MichaelD's with me, but does anyone else think this is just ABSURD??? I can understand the logic behind it if violence is involved only, (in which case, they'll have other evidence to file assault charges) but otherwise this law is absurd!!!

No its if she says no, and then you keep on going. Then its rape. If she says yes, then in the middle she says no, and you stop its not rape.

I don't see what's so wrong with a girl changing her mind "mid-thrust" so to speak. The minute the act becomes non-consentual, it's rape.

Also girls are in general unable to hold down a man and force make him to have sex. Not to mention the fact that if you were forcing a guy he would be limp and unable to have sex. With a girl...

I don't see what's so complex about this. If you have sex with anyone against their will, that's rape. It doesn't matter if she gives you the OK and then changes her mind. Just because you'll have some, ah, tension does NOT mean it's ok to just keeping going if she says stop.

That being said, unless there are some mitigating circumstances, like you are hurting her, I think it's just plain mean for a women to want to stop halfway through. That's not nice 😛 But even so, unless both parties are 100% willing, it's rape.
 
That's not really an astounding decision. If a girls says no at any point, you need to knock it off. Otherwise, they should lock your silly ass up.

Example, two people are in the act, then SHE says "no, I want to stop" and makes to get out from underneath or whatever, and the guy PHYSICALLY RESISTS HER AND HOLDS HER DOWN. That is f**ked up. But if you're at a party, lookin' to score, some drunk chick is all smiles at you, she leads you upstairs to a bedroom, y'all start bangin, then halfway through she's like "maybe we shouldn't do this" and you're like "nah baby you feel so good!"...THAT'S NOT RAPE!!!!

Next morning she's all sobered up and sorry she cheated on her lame-o boyfriend and now she wants to blame the other guy??? BTW, this is the context of the original case in question in Illinois...

Dude you're bluring the lines of a girl blaming someone for her own problems and true rape. Also if a girl says "maybe we shouldn't do this" hopefully youre smart enough to say "why" or "should we stop". Also if she is too drunk/drugged to fight against her own will, you're saying that means its not rape? As stated, if she/he (for viper 🙂 ) says no, they mean NO. It doesn't matter what you think or feel at that particular time, it's about the other party.

The law was intended for girls who say no mid act, not for someone blaming someone for their own indiscretions
