Question: if something taste like crap until you get used to it, why would you ever want to get used to it?

I drink hard liquor (not all and not all straight, normally masked in girly drinks). Beer is the suck, as is most wine.

Yeah it's really kind of odd isn't it? I think the main reason is that people hear about how good beer is once you get used to it...plus you can get drunk off beer which makes people force it down anyway.

For the record, I never really HATED wheat beer...just didn't much like it compared to other beer. Also, sometimes it takes getting sick of bvtch beer to want to drink real beer.

You're right. You should always give up on things right away if you don't enjoy it the first time you try it.

Because the payoff (the taste) is well worth it. I used to only be able to drink hard alcohol because I just couldn't stand beer. I gave beer a good try and now I almost exclusively drink it. Mixed drinks just make me sick to my stomach.

As for wine...I don't see how anyone couldn't like white wines since they taste like alcoholic grape juice. Red wine is a little harder to get used to but it's also worth it.

this argument doesn't work because you may end up liking it a lot. one more thing to enjoy instead of merely tolerate.

Mmmmmm, hefeweizen. For someone who's never had it before it will probably taste bitter. But damn is it tasty.

Never understood about people telling me that beer is an acquired taste.

I'm going to suggest that urine is also an acquired taste. Any takers?

I still haven't really found a beer that I can drink and like. Fat Tires I think were the closest I came, but I only had a sip at a party, after already being drunk. Did the same thing with a different ale that a buddy of mine was nuts for, got a 6 pack, and could only drink half of 2, and ended up pouring the other 4.

I'll stick to some classics: Whiskey, Vodka and Rum.

People that say beer is an acquired taste are the ones who drink it. So can we assume then you're in the habit of drinking urine?

Everything is an acquired taste. You grow accustomed to what you know. Cuisine around the world is different, and when you are introduced to something new it may not be immediately enjoyable.

Would you try something that tasted like sh!t when there is an alternative that doesn't? I understand your point but if hard liquor tastes good (straight or mixed) then why would you taste crap for a few weeks to then taste something else good? The only possible reason I can see is because the hard stuff is not as widely available (at least here in TX).

side note: where's the nutrition facts for liquor?

Girl drinks are full of sugar and make me sick to my stomach after drinking a couple (especially if you have to drink a lot to get drunk). I continued to drink beer even after disliking it the first time. My friends always party with beer and now I'm hooked.

Hard liquor + beer FTW

Girly drinks FTL.....

Can I assume that those of you who refuse to continue to ingest something which isn't what you're used to are all still drinking nothing but breast milk?
