Yes, they are more than pundits, but in name only. In reality, they aren't up to the level of a pundit. They're actually rank amateur D list actors impersonating the job descriptions they hold and they're really bad ones at that.

Trump hiring people even dumber than he is gives us the results we're now having to suffer through. I even had a synaptic moment of morbid sympathy for the people that have to defend his jaw dropping inexplicable yet revealing behavior.

They can't. It's theater and will end up causing even more problems when people of limited understanding start thinking ICE agents are criminals. They'll start doing even stupider things than they already are and more of them will end up getting shot.
The place to fight against ICE is congress and the courts.
