I am glad a majority of the responses point out how much of an a$$hole this ladies husband is. Some people just get a too little attached to their little PC's and its just not healthy. If my wife did that to my computer, I would just kiss her and and go ut and get that new AMD mobo I have been wanting for a long time.

there is a major difference between Comptuer literate, and computer intelligent.

A computer literate is someone who understands the basics of an OS.
A computer intelligent is someone who understands the fundamentals of a working computer.

my wife is computer literate, she understands the basic's of an OS but doesn't understand why a computer's CPU will melt if it gets to hot. Espically if it's overclocked. and it's 90 degrees in the house.
But she does understand what extreme cold and hot temps will do to a car.
and it's the same basic concept.

And there are those, who are older. generally retired people who will always be computer illiterate because they refuse to learn any of it.

Ok, some people use their computers for work. I know if I were to lose my data, my life would literally come to a hault (at least for a while -- I do have backups). I work on my machine (and play some games too), so any destruction of data, hardware, etc., would be very bad.

BTW, Elita is very computer literate and wouldn't do that, but I can see her, or myself especially, accidentally ruining many nice things in our lifetimes by accident. Don't even get me started on the destruction our kids do/will cause.
