Rattlesnake, Cottonmouth Moccasin, Copperhead and Coral Snake

The only one of those that is deadly is the coral snake, so unless he was mowing his kelp garden he'd suffer some nausea and maybe muscle cramps.

Pretty sure a diamondback rattler is the most poisonous in the states. I don't know where he is from but it's not entirely uncommon to see them around my area.

According to wikipedia, average venom load is ~400mg, 100 is enough to kill.

Oh, no, no, no, it IS! Last November the three female members of the Gunderson family in rural Black Snatch, Nev. died when they all choked on the larger chunks of their Chicken Tetrazinni when paterfamilias and licensed spot welder Robert "Buzz" Gunderson stumbled back to the kitchen table with a King Killer Garter snake still attached to his hurting and now impossible to zip up wang.

They literally died laughing, although this is most assuredly no laughing matter. :|

Snake related fatalities are on the rise! A series of new public information spots is being hurriedly rushed to local TV stations for airing by the Department of Homeland Fantasy.

They feature that witty cartoon scamp, Peter the Penis, who implores ALL of us to "Peek before you Pee."

partially wrong. the coral snake is the most deadly but people die from all of those. if the bit of a Eastern diamondback doenst kill you you will prob be missing a linb or finger after you heal.

Wrong. The other two are also potentially fatal, although admittedly rarely so.

I don't know WHAT you could be possibly getting at, but that reminds me:

It's a little know but HIGHLY documented historical fabrication that the Welsh born privateer Sir Henry Morgan was himself famously bitten by a stoway King Garter while attempting to relieve himself at the height of his attack on the highly fortified Port Wine, a key Spanish defensive installation near Puerto del Principe, Cuba, in 1668.

Flailing about in penal agony and unable to command the helm, he unintentionally beached his proud man 'o war, The Raging Queen. His long-time nemesis Vice-Admiral Alonso del Campo y Espinosa, is said to have pointed and laughed.

Brave Sir Quintox ran away.

Bravely ran away away.

When danger reared it's ugly head,

He bravely turned his tail and fled.

Yes, brave Sir Quintox turned about

And gallantly he chickened out.

Bravely taking to his feet,

He beat a very brave retreat.

Bravest of the braaaave, Sir Quintox!

Almost killed you? This story is missing something. Did you leave out the part where the snake overpowered you, took the lawnmower and chased you around the block trying to run you over with it?

An amusing side note - Never attempt to pick up a cat that is transfixed on a snake. I learned the hard way - twice.

Bwuhahaha.

Where are you getting your info from

Yes, the 1st three can kill you.

The coral snake is a land based snake (not a sea snake swimming near coral) and gets it's name from it's skin pattern with pretty colored rings (red touch yellow kill a fellow). The king snake (which will kill and eat poisonous snakes) is similarly colored but with a slightly differnt pattern (red touch blach, he's a good jack).

"Nationwide, there are only six deaths per year out of 8,000 venomous bites."

http://med.stanford.edu/news_r.../2006/june/snakes.html

So that's a .075% chance of dying from a rattlesnake bite. You have a greater chance of dying from a bee sting.

They're all capable of deadly bites. It's just that we have anti-venom available.

Even so, that is no guarantee.

The coral snake, while it has deadly venom does not have fangs to inject the poison. It is usually only a threat to children (pretty colors, they pick it up), it must bite on and chew it's way through an area of soft skin (like between the fingers).

Well before you continue mowing, be sure you pick your man card up out of the grass. You don't want to run it over.
