Who are "you guys"? And what box do you put people into who appear to be incapable of thinking in terms beyond simple-minded stereotypes? The 'small minded tard' box? Yes, I agree...many people have made a choice to keep their minds in the dark and that's where they're quite content to live.Originally posted by: JSt0rm01
whatever. These people are small minded tards. You guys are mad that we are intolerant of stupid? I'm intolerant of stupid in my personal life and professional life why would this be any different? These people made a choice to keep their minds in the dark and thats where they live.

Given the xenophobic ferfor percolating in the conservative base over alleged birth certificate fraud, indoctrination speeches to the nation's students, hitler youth re-education camps, anti-muslim rhetoric, etc, it's hard to disassociate the fringe from the non-fringe. Even otherwise moderate GOPers have in recent months catered or pandered to the crazy.
The new Birchers need to be put out to pasture by the right, but given the number of conservatives who repeat, don't challenge, or flat out accept the conspiracies put forth by the nuts, such excision would probably halve the party.
I am of the opinion that racism alone does not motivate these widely expressed sentiments. I merely think it's a strong aggravating factor.
That's cute. Must have hit a nerve. Although, one can never tell where with conservatives. They're so adept at creating red herrings.Originally posted by: boomerang

Are you prepared to declare publicly that palin and wilson are good leaders and represent the republican party?
Do you think kids should be exposed to violence or an allusion to it?
Do you think religion belongs in politics?
Do you think fox news should be worshiped? I hope you are aware that fox news is part of a profit driven corporation.
And the nascar comment - well that was just mean, no matter how accurate. Sorry to offend if some of your people are in that picture.
Or maybe you're upset about the intolerance of those who believe the moon missions were huge lies.
A conservative who is tolerant of morons is just that. A conservative who spews specious arguments is the norm. I could easily claim that these protesters and their defenders are unpatriotic. But then, moronic would be more accurate. One of their official complaints is the "tax and spend" policies of the u.s. government. It's incredibly republican jingoistic and rolls easily off the tongue but isn't quite accurate. It's "borrow and spend" - something the bushies did like drunken sailors.
I can't disagree with the fundamental problem of too much pork spending. What is awfully suspicious is the timing. There were no protests until a democrat was elected president. The timing makes these protests entirely suspect, especially since they are directed at obama and other democrats and not any republicans. Hopefully, this can be seen through the partisan haze.
I'm not admitting to anything. This would not have been brought up if fearsome boy hadn't whined about playing the 'race card' hypocritically. Even if I had used a trick such as the 'race card' (which I didn't and haven't), I would have been man enough to not whine about someone else's use of a similar trick. Hopefully none are focused on making republicans pay for their chicanery - both past and present. But if they inadvertently suffer because of it, there will be no sympathy.Originally posted by: JD50

Obviously the moron in your picture is a birther(The group that thinks obama wasn't a natural born citizen) which most sane people don't claim but they are going to try and get media coverage no matter who they are marching with.

Oh look, another racist claiming "your a racist, I'm not a racist"
Anyone that can even attempt to defend that photo as non-racist has to be a card carryin KKK member or somethin. The birther defense you offered up is weak cover.
Make up a signs promoting "Sonya Sotimayor for President of Mexico", or "Joe Lieberman for President of Isreal" and claim those aren't racist

I hold you and every other Republican supporter in here personally responsible for the mess you and them have made of this country.
Individually responsible enough for you?

They spout the gaggle line - you twist and massage the line so it seems like erudite understanding of sobering and cause demanding issues. But you are no different than the most rabid hater in the streets of DC yesterday.
It was you and those like you that have been training the "tea-baggers" all over the country in how to "protest" in a way that couldn't be seen as outright rebellion though that is what the Glen Beck party is working toward. In effect you correct the spelling on the protest sign of the ill-informed, under educated, carefully frightened "moron" that would bring his gun instead of a sign if left to his own volition.
You, are the most dangerous type of "disagreer" in the mix in our country today. Are you a racist? Of course not. You could write a thesis to prove that you are not racist. When the mind outpaces the heart. The heart can stay in hiding while the mind works to produce the evil in the heart.
I have no clue as to who you are as a person and I ask your forgiveness if you find anything I have said insulting. My post of the 11th on this forum about sedition is being made more true as I read responses to it and your response on this tnread.

Hey Jimmy J!
Are you one of the blatant racists posting on P&N? I just thought I would put the question out as I don't know anything at all about you, can't remember reading any of your posts and haven't even looked at the thread you are claiming credit for.
Why are you calling me out specifically? I am not an organizer of these rallies and was only in downtown DC to see an admittedly great movie. Definitely did not want to get stuck in what I thought was going to be a traffic nightmare. Got a chance to see part of the rally inadvertently, walking at the edges of the crowd, about half a mile from where the speechifying was going on. It was that big. 1.5 million people. Isn't that something?
I was also at the National Council of Negro Women's Black Family Reunion Celebration later that afternoon. Maybe 1,000 people. Max! I did not linger because the DJs they had sucked. Hmmm, does that make me a racist? Or just someone with musical taste?
Were you in DC on Saturday? I personally did not see hateful activity Saturday, though I was flipping channels today and landed on MSNBC seemingly identifying some extreme signage. Myself, I've seen the worst kind of vilifying when the leftish were attacking Bush and Cheney - nothing that I saw Saturday came close to that.
Having seen many demonstrations and protests here in DC over the years I actually found the politeness and friendly behavior of the huge crowds on Saturday to be almost shocking in retrospect. You have to live here (or in places like Seattle, etc.) to know how rough the anarchist/communist/liberal protesters can be, ie during the G8/G20 summits.
FYI, I do not spend any of my time correcting anyone's spelling, that is a function of whatever school system educated them. Of course, education begins at home, but... go figure. Now that I think about it, all of the signs that I saw were already using correct spelling - O-B-A-M-A, P-E-L-O-S-I, R-E-I-D.
As to being a "disagreer," whatever that means, I have been very detailed in explaining my political, economic and philosophical perspectives. Much more so than you, for example, someone likely to fade away without any firm ground to stand on.
BTW. I am a Classical Liberal. And proud of it. The only label that makes sense for me and likely totally beyond your ability to understand the nuance.
So, no, you do not insult me and I don't take offense. We are operating at completely different levels.
Want to really express your appreciation for my amusing commentary? Make a large cash donation to ProLiteracy (http://www.proliteracy.org) or, better yet, make a REALLY large cash donation to The Washington Literacy Council (http://www.washingtonliteracycouncil.org) The need for this tutoring is high. More than one-third (37%) of adults in Washington, D.C., read at the lowest levels of literacy - a rate twice the national average.
