Prediction - Mosh runs back to the hellhole known as ATOT and starts whining about how everyone abused her. Happens all the time.

You assume dislike for bush = left.

How utterly naive.

Bingo!

But, the apologists, fanbois and other all-around conservatives just don't get it.

Understatement.

Add the time spent at or en route to the presidential retreat of Camp David and at the Bush family estate in Kennebunkport, Maine, and Bush has taken 250 days off as of August 2003. That's 27% of his presidency spent on vacation.

Linky...
please read your link:
Although to be fair, much of this time is classified as a "working vacation."

you are acting as if he was truly "on vacation" during those 250 days. he was not.

on the flip your link says that Clinton cut his vacation short once "so he and his wife could concentrate on her Senate race and fundraising for Democrats." that's self-serving, and something Bush doesn't have to concern himself with.

It figures that i post something non-partisan and get critcized for it. :(

To follow your lead, "working vacations" are nebulous at best. Did he actually "work" during that time? Doubtful. Its clear you have an agenda, since that site also mentions that the last two demo presidents took the LEAST number of "working vacations." Just the fact that dumbya was at his ranch or on a "working vacation" 27% of time says SOMETHING, agree or disagree?

the namecalling in here is so tremendous. do you feel it furthers your agendas or something?

all i was stating is that his vacations are not like yours or mine. he is still on call and surely still being consulted about work. some say it like he is incapacitated while "on vacation." he is not.

I can't, but I know of many Republicans not happy with Bush.
Last time I checked, Republican doesn't equal "left".

Your logic is totally backwards, can you not see libertarians, true conservatives and liberals all can be justified in not liking Bush's policies/actions/statements.

As a president he is not doing that great a job. He has a major flaw when it comes to driving home any sort of Department of State Diplomatic Message to other countries. He needs some real work on repeating or even initially laying out his plans whether it be for Iraq or diplomacy in general.

Some silly people default him for being a Christian. Clinton who was a democrat often went to church. I can remember press images of him and Hillary walking to church in the Snow. I would not fault him for being a Christian. He doesnt make decisions solely based on his christian point of view.

I dont care much for Rumsfeld. Rumsfeld is a major agitator and has no diplomacy whatsoever.

The lefties are not going to support Bush, but the "right" will disapprove of him, as proven by a Republican above, therefore your poll is entirely misleading if you intend to draw these conclusions.

I can't believe you are not understanding the blatent flaws in your reasoning.

PS. Still waiting for the thread without a well represented "Bush" side...

yes bolding the text makes you out to be a big man.

here's the thing: this is a simple little poll. it is to satisfy my curiousity.
i don't need a lecture on how i should or shouldn't have done it.
please move along.

Bush: smart man or idiot?

I get a day off, iff i take one off. Since starting grad school in the fall of '97 (yes, that means 5 years of grad school and +3 years postdocing) i have had MAYBE a month of real vacation. Tally up the "working vacation" (working EVERY day, but not a full 12 hours, like i normally do) and that might go up to two months. IF i were the leader of the free world i would spend ZERO hours vacationing. Unfortunately, our idiot in the WH does not agree.

There are few occasions where I feel the need to bold, usually to overstate blatently obvious points not understood by the irrational and illogical.

Your poll was fine until you made outlandish assumptions, shot down within the thread itself. If you were intending to draw the "left" vs. "right" conclusion all along, you are indeed a troll.
:cookie:

This poll is a strawman in itself.
and I will continue to explain why it is. You might as well draw some more outlandish assumptions, as you already look ridiculous.

You find wrong, just like this thread.

Creating a strawman poll for your own skewed logic is counter-productive and intended to knock horns for absolutely no reason. This is where you deserve the recognition of being a troll.

Sorry if I come off condecending, it must be my lack of respect for blatent trolling.

PS. I have no political allegence on this forum, and my arguments were initiated by your flawed logic, not the content.

no. i did not post this to "knock horns" with anyone. i felt there was a lot of Bush bashing in here, and i wanted to see if the general consensus in here thought Bush sucked.
why is that so hard to get into your skull?

continue to call me a troll. it only serves to identify yourself as one.

Labelling a shole forum's political ideologies with their support for a one man and drawing false conclusions based on flawed information is knocking horns.

You want to walk in here proposing a strawman argument, go nuts, but I have no problem holding you to account and indicating how flawed your reasoning is.

Apparently I'm a troll because I called you a troll...hah!

Many presidents/politicians have taken a decent amount of vacation, look at John Kerry missing all those votes in 2004. Didn't seem to be doing his job for the people of Massachusetts.
