perhaps it would be more interesting to add to the poll...."how many in these boards approved of bush before he came to office and now think he's doing a poor job.."
anyway......i wasn't much into politics in 2000 and when bush came to office, I figured he looked like a decent guy; not so smart, but down to earth type of guy; however, after sept 11, i started paying closer attention to politics and needless to day, I believe he's doing a horrendous job. Since I like to keep an open mind, and there are many here who love to scream 'bush-hater', i want to know from those what makes mr bush so great! :)

They all have the usual talking points, seemingly right out of a recent speech by a Democratic senator or moveon.org

After participating in P&N, it has gotten worse each month. One particular side has become even more desperate, more shrill and spews more lies than I can bare. Yes, thats the side that says Bush is dumb, he is a ass and he sucks etc etc. I cannot take this much crap and have stayed away from this particular forum. I now usually visit once a week to check on things, maybe it'll be once a month if things continue this way. I just cannot take the moveon.org talking points anymore. If I wanted that, I'd rather go to DU, which is a million times bigger than this forum and has more original ultra leftist posters.

I really think these people believe that they're actually making a difference and the American population is really listening to them. Polls are one thing, election results are another. Face the facts, the American people are not listening to you because your message sucks. ASS.

Bush's message sucks too, and I agree with that. But they would rather have a person in office who is willing to do SOMETHING rather than listen to the UN. I'm more liberal than I am conservative, but the so-called liberals on this forum are really making me think twice about my positions. I'm afraid they will turn me into a conservative and that is something I don't want to be. Maybe that is the reason why I'm trying to stay away from this place.

Besides, real life political conversations with people are far more entertaining and you do actually accomplish something.
thank you for that. i appreciate it.

We've already had polls that verified that P&N leans left. Also, please use a better title next time.

#1 - people come and go - the previous poll results may not apply.
#2 - i knew it leaned left in here, but i wanted to see how strongly it did.
#3 - don't tell me what to do. i will title threads as i see fit, and i did title this properly.

Ditto. I will tell you when you don't title threads properly and don't tell me not to do so. This was a thread about how many PNers liked Bush (and your value judgments of that). You couldn't gain that from the title alone. Your title should summarize what the thread is about. It wastes time for those that might not be interested. (This is my last post on this issue).

#1: This poll doesn't apply, see my posts above
#2: Both sides are represented well on this forum, sheer numbers maybe, but in discussion it tends to be one on one.
#3: This poll proves nothing more than Bush is not a well recieved leader, no ideologies were integrated into the poll.

This thread's intentions blow

At a time when the country is very divided on many issues, he's making that division worse instead of uniting the country. And at a time when the world is clearly a more dangerous place, he is quite possibly making it even more dangerous instead of less so.

All that aside, I don't think he's a terrible person or a total failure. I just think that when I look at my metrics for what I'd like to see from the current president, Bush just doesn't measure up.

Well said...

Understatement.

Add the time spent at or en route to the presidential retreat of Camp David and at the Bush family estate in Kennebunkport, Maine, and Bush has taken 250 days off as of August 2003. That's 27% of his presidency spent on vacation.

Linky...

please read your link:
Although to be fair, much of this time is classified as a "working vacation."

you are acting as if he was truly "on vacation" during those 250 days. he was not.

on the flip your link says that Clinton cut his vacation short once "so he and his wife could concentrate on her Senate race and fundraising for Democrats." that's self-serving, and something Bush doesn't have to concern himself with.

I didn't mind the thread as it stands, but you and others projecting this to "liberal" or other idiotic conclusions is totally illogical.

I DARE YOU to find just ONE THREAD where an issue was not represented well.
:cookie: for your intentions.

PS. I will continue to post when and where I feel. If you take issue, take it up with the Mods.

The pointlessness is strong with this one. I'd recommend elaborating your viewpoint instead of just baiting.

a. gigantic deficits
b. fighting wars without a plan what to do after the war
c. religion shoved down my throat
d. going back to the 19th century

wasn't baiting. for the umpteenth time, read the thread title. i wanted to get a reasonable idea of how many people think Bush sucks in here.

why do i need to be flamed for that?
