I think most of these breeders should be taxed up the ass, dogs, cats, exotics. Too many animals are being produced.

The sad thing about these cats is too many times the owner falls in love with the kitten and then ends up with too much pet on their hands when they become adults and either give them up to a rescue or even worse just pawn them off on a craigslist ad or let them go in the wild "cause they are animals they must know the wild".

sucks. I have 4 rescued cats and two dogs. The last being a tripaw from my deceased grandmother.

A pet store near me used to sell serval cats, you needed a permit IIRC. A lot of people got injured by them though, so they kind of got a bad name on the news.

well, I spend $0 for golf clubs b/c golf is gay....

but I also would not pay $800 for a cat. ...but I thought those were more expensive?

Those toyger cats can cost $2,000, I think? D:

$200-800. That's one set of tires. :p

It's not the kitten that I really like.., it's the adult cat. Kittens are cool and all...but my last cat was adopted from a 'found/free stray cat' in the newspaper and he was awesome. He was very long - could reach the kitchen counter from the floor. I want another cat...bigger is better. I'd love to adopt an adult Cheetoh.

Oscar, my Tigerpoint siamese (feline leukemia took him in his prime :()

Wow, you are agenious!!!!!! /sarcasm.

Golf clubs max out at ~$1500 in most cases. Custom clubs can cost more, but most (read, 99.999999999%) of golfers don't need what the professionals use.

@OP: They're called Savannah Cats and they are quite expensive. I want one as well but I haven't the money. :(

Actually the pic he posted is a Cheetoh. The Cheetoh is a cross between Ocicat breed and specific registered cats from Bengal breed. A Savannah is a serval and a domestic cat cross breed.

Savannah also have a different disposition than a Cheetoh.

That's a cool looking cat. A friend of mine has one. It mostly avoids strangers and is really noisy. Hilarious.

You sure that GSD is 100 lbs though? That's rather large for that breed.

Yep. He's fracking huge. 100lbs is the summer lean for him. He's usually between 105-110lbs over the winter. And he's no fatass, just an enormous GSD.

Yeah you do need permits. Servals really aren't anything like a domestic cat. They're truly wild cats, and get around 40 lbs. It's like a bobcat with different fur.

They are fun though. We had a young one at the aquarium where I worked. He liked to play, but would definitely scratch the shit out of us.

That is epic! I want a nice-tempered one, though..seems a Cheetoh is one of the better ways to go for a large/friendly cat.

My friends have a Bengal cat. Oddly, it is really gentle with their kids. They thought they were going to get rid of it, but it turned out that everything was really easy.
My other friends who inspired them to get a Bengal, had to get rid of theirs. It didn't mess with the kids directly, but it peed on all the kids stuff. Which can happen with most domestic cats. They can get jealous.

Knowing how US cops are trigger happy with pets, I would be afraid to get it...
It will get confused with a real leopard by some retard with a gun and killed.

Is it irony that you're replying to a cop?

Would it be possible to get a serval and declaw it?

Assuming you could even find a vet willing to work on the cat (without going to a zoo or the univ, who still might not have vets with exotics experience), chances are there would be regs against it (or there should be). And even still, it's not likely any exotics vet would agree to such a procedure.

Again, it's not a domestic cat in any sense of the word.

plus almost all these exotics come with contracts from the breeders. Some will require you to surrender males for stud purposes if desired.

canada.com sounds almost like a parody...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashera
"The cat is an alleged domestic/wild hybrid cat, a hybrid between the African serval, the Asian leopard cat, and a domestic housecat. However, the authenticity of the breed has been challenged, as the only known examples of "Ashera" cats have been proven by DNA testing to be Savannah cats, an existing breed.[3]"

As for declawing, i would think a claw is a claw.
Better to have no claws and a good home than to eventually get dragged out into the yard to get shot.
